Left unsaid in Grimaldi’s analysis: a corrupt narcissist is unable to imagine other people have virtues, from honesty to integrity to devout beliefs in religion or national service that drive their behavior.
It is a historic irony that a con man from Queens who serves Mammon rose to lead an authoritarian movement animated by Christian nationalism & evangelical fervor, only to end up feuding with an American Pope from Chicago who serves God.
Maybe it’s historic coincidence, fate, or a message from a higher power, but it’s not hard to judge which head of state has a stronger moral claim to being “the leader of the free world” this morning.

I support the ethics committee’s investigation and believe Eric Swalwell is no longer fit to be a Member of Congress. He should be expelled from Congress.
I want to be clear: I had no knowledge of the allegations of assault, harassment, and predatory behavior against Eric Swalwell.
I trusted someone who I believed was a friend, but it is now clear that he is not the person I thought I knew.
The women who have come forward have shown courage. They deserve to be believed, to be supported, and to see justice served.

Trump won Iowa 55.7 to 42.5. The question about this poll, and it's the same I have about a lot of Red State polling, is how much D's can outperform the Harris number. The GOP 2 party share in the Senate race is 51.6% - which I suspect will be a reasonable prediction for the Senate race in the end. But will MAGA vote with Trump not on the ballot?

In the past week, Donald Trump has threatened nuclear war against Iran, called for the genocide of 93 million Iranians, publicly attacked the Pope, and compared himself to Jesus Christ.
Recall July of 2024 when every pundit and reporter in American media were urging President Biden to step down due to concerns over his cognitive health.
Where are those voices now? Where are the demands for Trump to be removed? Where is the flood of op-eds and cable news panels and social media posts calling for the 25th Amendment to be triggered?

Trump has always mocked Christianity. The Christian support of him has made a mockery of Christ for years. I'm glad some people are finally realizing this but also, Trump was like this from day 1 - which is why many Christians like myself never supported him.
