The reason we predicted yesterday (to widespread condemnation) that @QLDLabor would lose the state election was because MFW have an Admin in QLD and most Aussies who don’t live there have NFI just how much #NewsCorpse heavily dominates the discourse there and influences everything. Watching Miles performing well on Twitter isn’t real life. Only 5% of Australians are regularly on Twitter and a good performance on this platform means nothing in a state soaked in fossil fuel billionaires and hateful fascist rhetoric. @StevenJMiles didn’t lose the election, Rupert Murdoch won it. This should be the start, middle and finish of every convo on what happened, but of course won’t be since the national media protect their colleagues and mates even when those rival publications and channels are anti-democracy arsewipes. @D_Melissa2 I had a doctor's appointment followed by a vet appointment on the same day (vet appt for my dog, not me 😆). GP bill was $80, vet was $100 JUST for consultation.

I guess it stands to reason if people are struggling to feed their families, pet food is an extra. Vet bills for people on lower incomes must be a substantial sacrifice I imagine too.

Every shop I seem to go to people are talking about the price of cat food. I don’t own a cat so I feel limited in capacity to appreciate this, no idea the prices. I just nod. Is cat food something that has gone up substantially in recent times?

@D_Melissa2 Yes, dog food as well. The shelters are at capacity because it's so expensive to feed pets and people aren't coping 🤬☹️
