@GreggHurwitz Just finished “Antihero” and I loved it. Thanks!

@sappholives83 Hear, hear! I’ve said exactly this many times over the last 2.5 years, but not nearly so eloquently!
English

I’m just going to say this — had Mexican soldiers invaded across the USA’s southern border on 10/7/2023 to rape and murder their way across part of Texas, then paraded the corpses of dead, naked American women around like trophies for the Mexican civilian population to spit on, by 10/7/2024, Mexico as an independent country would have ceased to exist — and no one would have said a word in protest.
No one tells non-Jewish nations that they must turn the other cheek after acts of war. Only Israel is expected to meekly bury her dead; only Jews are supposed to constantly mourn, but never to retaliate; to accept butchery and brutality and bombings as the price they must pay for mere existence — and it has far less to do with Palestinian lives than it does with the age-old European conviction that Jews only exist so that the rest of society has someone to abuse.

Need a name for those who are
- not Woke Left
- not Woke Right
- anti-Islamist
- aggressive to bullies
- not anti-Semitic
- not “I’m not anti-Jew I’m anti-[BS here]”
- for free speech
- for civil liberties
- against “balancing” civil liberties
- for free markets
- for cost benefit analyses
- for tight immigration
- against isolationism
- contemptuous of international law
- against foreign dictatorships
- “America First,” not “Israel Last”
- love Iranians
- “Free Iran” but not “Free Palestine”
- appreciative that strength brings peace

Suggestions?

@SethAMandel @JonahDispatch Thanks, Seth. Not sure how somebody running the Counter-Terrorism Center could be in the tank for the #1 state-sponsored of terrorism. Stupid personnel policy.

It is great news that Joe Kent is leaving the government. But his entire, disastrous political career was a problem of Trump's own making: commentary.org/seth-mandel/jo…

@MattGilesBD Do the players really have to go through the metal detectors/security theater?
English

No uncle, no aunt: the war is going well. A few more weeks to further decimate the regime’s war-making, nuclear, and repression capabilities — then comes the next phase of the strategy. Your “pro-diplomacy” camp helped enable many of these deadly regime capabilities; now they have to be dismantled.
English

Warmongers crying uncle after their long-sought war doesn’t go as planned (but as the pro-diplomacy camp warned it would):
Mark Dubowitz@mdubowitz
I’ve advocated for Iran regime change for 22 years. But success would be a militarily decisive victory that leaves the regime in place—but with its deadly capabilities severely degraded. And then a phase two: maximum pressure, max support and max fracturing to bring it down.

NYC mayor Mamdanis wife liked this picture of twelve year old Yagil Yaakov who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th, his father was murdered. He was forced to strip infront of all these people and then abused.
Hamas posted this Pic.
She needs to at least apologize, but she will double down cuz
“resistance” means kidnapping and humiliating kids and babies.
And the massacres. We will never forgive or forget.

English

@StateDept Thank the Secretary for not using “decimated.”
English

SECRETARY RUBIO: I want everyone to know your military is getting the job DONE. Every single day this regime in Iran has less missiles and less launchers. The factories work less, and their navy is being eviscerated. The world is going to be a safer and a better place when this mission is accomplished.
English

@AP4Liberty @misfitpatriot_ I wish this was true. If we did have good memories, there would be universal support for eradicating the mullahs.
English

Because Americans never forget.

James Fishback@j_fishback
How exactly does this “Make America Great Again”?
English

@Osinttechnical Why wasn’t this done last Saturday? Strangle these terrorists.

@crazietalker @morrisoncrying I liked it. Wanted to go get myself one. C’mon @DukeStore get us a #Sisterhood version!

@SwipeWright If you were to present this definition to me without the maps and cartoons, I’d say, clearly, the Israelis are the people you are talking about when you say “Indigenous Peoples.”

English

I read a lot of woke “scholarship,” and the way the term “Indigenous” is used makes it clear it’s being treated as the antithesis of “white,” because “white” is viewed as nearly synonymous with “colonizer/settler.”
In this framework, “Indigenous” refers to “pre-settler societies” (see figure). But if “white” and “settler” are treated as synonyms, the logic forces the bizarre conclusion that most of Europe has no Indigenous population at all, and white people are native to nowhere.
The left likes to criticize what they call “scientific racism,” but there are few clearer examples of it than this.

Elon Musk@elonmusk
If one is to use the term “First Nations” or “Indigenous Peoples” or “Native Americans” in the Americas and Antipodes, then, in fairness, it should also apply to English, French, Spanish and other such peoples in Europe

@thedebralea 1979: the mullahs commit an act of war by invading the US Embassy.
English

The United States didn’t bomb Iran because of Israel.
The United States FINALLY avenged the ~976 Americans murdered by Iran & its proxies over the last 47 years.
A little reminder:
1983: Beirut Embassy bombing (17 Americans killed) & Marine Barracks bombing (241 U.S. service members killed).
1984–85: CIA Chief William Buckley kidnapped, tortured, murdered.
1984: Kuwait Air hijacking (2 Americans killed).
1985: TWA 847 hijacking (1 American killed).
1989: Col. William Higgins murdered.
1995–96: Hamas/PIJ bus bombings (multiple Americans killed).
1996: Khobar Towers (19 U.S. airmen killed).
1998: U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya & Tanzania (12 Americans killed).
2001: Sbarro bombing (3 Americans killed).
2002–03: Hebrew University & Jerusalem bus bombings (6+ Americans killed).
2003–11: 600+ U.S. troops killed in Iraq by Iran-backed militias.
2006: American IDF soldier killed by Hezbollah.
2007: Karbala attack (5 U.S. soldiers killed).
2014: 2 Americans killed in Gaza war.
2015: American couple murdered in West Bank.
2019: U.S. contractor killed in Iraq.
2023: Americans killed in Iraq/Syria attacks.
Oct 7, 2023: 48 Americans slaughtered by Hamas.
Jan 2024: 3 U.S. soldiers killed in Jordan.
Iran has been at war with U.S. since 1979 - we finally ended it. 🇺🇸
English

#FreeIran The mullahs have been at war with the US since the embassy was seized in 1979. They subsequently planned and financed the 1983 Beirut attacks on the US Embassy and the Marine Barracks. They sponsored the Khobar Towers attack in KSA, and then killed around 600 servicemen with EFPs in Iraq. This does not even cover all the Americans and Israelis killed by their proxy militias. They must be removed.
English

@RepDonBacon @RepDonBacon sure would love for you to stick around in DC. I love this part of Gorsuch’s concurrence:

English

SCOTUS got it right, in my view. Three points:
1) Justice Gorsuch’s exchange in oral arguments was so key to me. He asked if a future POTUS could use this precedent to unilaterally declare a “climate emergency” and impose policies he or she wanted as a result. The admin’s lawyer said probably yes. NO THANK YOU! 🚩
2) SCOTUS isn’t so much slapping down Trump as it is *once again* telling Congress to do its job. If we want to use tariffs this way (separate debate, I’m skeptical), we can pass laws constitutionally. Way too much reliance on the executive and judicial branches to do things they won’t/can’t do with the authority they actually have.
1) This ruling deals another blow to the Left’s cynical and dangerous delegitimization campaign against SCOTUS. They push destructive schemes like court packing because they are annoyed that they don’t get all the outcomes they want from the current Court. They lie and pretend this Court just prostrates itself in front of Trump and bends to his will. Not so, including on this big one.
English

@jimgeraghty Can’t wait to see what kind of tantrum this invokes. Hopefully, he takes out his pique on the ayatollahs!
English

Well, well, well. It turns out, according to the Supreme Court, that the president does NOT have the authority to raise tariffs on other countries because he didn't like a television commercial, or because he didn't like the tone of a foreign leader. In fact, the Supreme Court has ruled "IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs" at all.
