Sad that reducing funding to the police wasn't an option. Had my say in the comments. The police service in the UK enables/creates/protects criminals in its own ranks while being institutionally bigoted in almost every way (that's what their own reports say).

NEW: Florida mom runs over her own daughter in an SUV while dropping her off on the first day of school. A 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after her mom accidentally ran her over at Booker Middle School in Sarasota. The girl reportedly dropped her backpack and some school supplies that rolled under her mom's SUV. The mom then tried driving off, running over her own daughter. "She was just screaming, just in a panic, holding her head, holding her chest," said a witness. The girl is reportedly recovering in the hospital.

If anyone has actually bothered using a Lime Bike before, you’ll know you need to take a photo of it at the end of the ride, to show it has been safely parked. Upright. If it’s not, you get charged the call-out fee for Lime to come and pick it up. What’s happening here, are disgruntled fuckwits pushing/kicking them over, as they oppose @limebike and green transport. @skynews please do better.

Kid cycling on the pavement because the cycle lane is blocked by parked cars, is hit by a bus and dies from "multiple chest injuries". Collision investigator blames kid for not using the cycle lane (which was blocked) and not wearing a helmet (which doesn't cover his chest). 🙄

Also noting that since this report these are scenes at bus stops in Dagenham and Birmingham that WON'T get a 10 minute feature because it's moto-normalised. @benthompson @sallynugent
