@FreightAlley Insurance didn't move but everything else did, you go to the dealer for repairs and charge uncalled $235/hour you raise the insurance which is expensive as is and you have more small carriers going bankrupt. Owner operators have enough expenses.

@SecDuffy Not enough should be no american citizenship or permanent residency no trucking, when caught driving illegaly impound truck/trailers and arrest the drivers that's how you really clean up the trucking industry.

Islamic Uzbek gangsters are invading small Ohio farm towns with HUNDREDS of chameleon carrier shell companies. They’re LAUNDERING MILLIONS - Funding the construction of the Islamic Center of Maineville, Ohio… Meanwhile… There is NO dedicated migrant fraud task force in Hamilton Township, Warren County, Ohio. @supertrucker Another red flag should be the ownership of the company, if it was ever sold, when and to whom.

The biggest red flag brokers need to look for is English Language Proficiency violations. If the carrier doesn’t care whether or not their driver understands English, they really don’t care about anything else. I expect activity among carriers with ELP violations to nosedive.
Wall Street Mav@WallStreetMav

The US Supreme Court ruled that freight brokers could be held liable for carrier accidents just the other day. It is already having an impact in the market. Trucking companies with a poor record for safety (usually hiring 3rd world drivers) are getting eliminated quickly.

@FreightAlley @maybedanielleee I agree some of them will be dumb enough to think nothing will happen to them and they will be the first ones out when s*hit hits the fan.

@maybedanielleee I think a lot of brokers are riverboat gamblers and will take their chances until we see some big payouts. I get the sense that most brokers think they are not impacted and this wont be an issue for them.

The SCOTUS ruling has nothing to do with the recent spike in trucking rates. SCOTUS impact will take years to work out and it will be months before we understand what it means for trucking rates. They are certainly going up, but not immediately. The surge in rates are caused by: classic supply and demand factors: A capacity crunch caused by regulatory crackdown of unregulated trucking firms. The trucking industry has become a Wild West of outlaws and criminals. The industry has faced a secuirty, safety, and economic crisis due to unknown drivers and carriers coming in. DOT is trying to fix that. It’s causing a shock to the market. Second, industrial activity is accelerating across the country. AI data centers, defense, energy are driving industrial activity at American factories. Add to it that American industry is far more competitive due to our energy abundance and you have the perfect ingredients for an industrial renaissance. Truckers are railroads are starting to feel it.

When we say an out of service order is a nothing more than a time-out, this is exactly what we mean. They will not stop driving until someone forces them out of the truck, not just “off the road.”

@atutruckers I never heard of a short term green card there is a 3 years conditional green card if you get it through marriage and turns to permanent green card if you don't divorce in those 3 years.

Of course truck parking costs money. The bank charges interest on the property. The seller charged for the land. The town charges taxes. Insurance costs money. Maintenance costs money. Truckers are business owners, not civil servants entitled to free storage. Appreciate truckers all day long, but business expenses are part of the game. Put your big boy pants on and stop crying every time parking isn’t free. A tractor trailer takes up 1,000+ square feet. Nobody owes you that space for free. If you find free parking or the state provides it, great. That means you did good business that day.

Truck transportation jobs in April rose by an amount that has not been seen for a long time. The jobs total of 1,496,600 jobs was 4,300 more than in March. To find a one-month gain of more than 4,300 jobs in truck transportation, you need to go back to September 2023, when the BLS reported a jobs gain in that sector of 6,000 jobs. vist.ly/53hr2

The people who don't drive a truck but get their palms greased to promote Truck Parking Club are a different level of sleezebag. These are not appropriate places to park a truck. No employee should be paying business expenses for the employer & get shaken down by a 3rd party.
