The Omarchy 4 branch is now 30,000 lines of new code. The majority of it was written by GPT5.5. It's been so, so good at QML. You still need to review, but there's just no way this scale of a conversion would be feasible without AI in a reasonable time. github.com/basecamp/omarc…

For complicated agent work, it's amazing how much GPT5.5 has improved. I found 5.2 to be very far behind Opus. Now using Opus 4.7 after 5.5 feels like a big step backwards. Gotta love this level of competion! Strong comeback for OpenAI.

The reason agents are so good at Linux is that all 40 million lines of kernel code was part of the pre training. Along with every other open source dependency. This really does make every obscure error message shallow, and the system completely malleable.

@Mallchad @richgel999 how are you people this tiresome. This is by design, don't pay for what you don't use is part of the zero-overhead design principle.

C++ memory safety: “use modern C++”. Okay so let’s check out std::span. Surely it’s safe right? No, it doesn’t bounds check until C++26 (maybe). The lang is unsafe.

@Itsfoss So Linus should kick it out, he still has ultimate authority over how Linux is developed.

Linus Torvalds is fed up with AI usage recently. In his latest kernel update, Linus Torvalds revealed that the Linux kernel's private security mailing list has become "almost entirely unmanageable" Why? Because it is flooded with duplicate bug reports from people running the same AI tools on the same code. Same bugs. Same day. No fixes. Just endless "pointless churn" for the volunteers keeping your Linux systems secure. He is blunt (as always): “AI tools are great, but only if they actually help, rather than cause unnecessary pain.” This isn't anti-AI, it's anti-slop. Real open source work still needs humans who understand what they're reporting. What do you think? Is AI helping or hurting open source right now?

Ancient sources described Helen as tall, luminous, pale-skinned, bright-haired, and so goddess-like that Trojan elders said she was worth a decade of war just to look at. Lupita Nyong'o is a talented actress. She is also about as far from that description as casting could get. Nolan built his reputation on authenticity, but this one is a hard sell.

@dayvsterdev @INTERIORPORN1 Yeah exactly. The comments make it sound like people expected them to graduate high school and get married and have kids at 18. 🤦‍♀️ Hell, go on a 1-month cruise and you can hit 10-12 countries along the Mediterranean. BAM! That's 10-12 books.

@dayvsterdev @INTERIORPORN1 Yeah that's pretty much it. No wonder everyone is miserable these days. So many are trapped in a self-perpetuating cycle of hate. It's like people are seeking to be offended like it's a hobby.
