And that's fair but the Pi shines for educational purposes. I mean mine has also been running a crawler for the past couple of years without issue, but I much prefer thinkcentres for my homelabbing purposes.

@dayvsterdev yeah you don’t use the SD card, you run things off an external HDD. And not everyone has access to refurbished Thinkpads, especially not here in the nordics. The form factor is also way better, easier to sneak behind the router than a full think pad.

it delivers a terrible value for it's price point, a refurbed thinkcentre with proper onboard storage will usually beat the raspberry pi in price, while offering the user more RAM a better CPU and proper onboard storage.
SD cards are horrible and prone to breaking if you're doing too much IO which is a given if you install an OS on them.
Then there's the issue of the Pi not coming with any surge protection which makes them burn out frequently.
