@GAEscobarMD @UHVascular That is the only ace bandage I will use. I call it the maxi ace. But all of the nurses and techs call it the booby ace because that’s what they wrap the patients with after plastic surgery.
English

One Ace bangage, entire leg from foot to thigh, with room to go back down again.
Vascular surgery dream....I've never seen such a HUGE elastic bandage before I came to @UHVascular!!
🦄💪
Envious?!???

.@HarringtonHVI Vascular Center happy hour. East side of Cleveland edition. Could not ask for a more collaborative group of APPs RNs admins docs and RVTs! @docpark @JaeChoMD

@FrankCaputoMD So sorry to hear Frank. The few times I met him. He seemed like such a fantastic gentleman.

In honor of one of the greatest people I have ever known. Dr. Gregorio Sicard was a great surgeon but an even better person. Privileged to call him my mentor a highlight of my career not because of my love of aortic surgery but because of my respect of this man. RIP Dr.Sicard

@bfhermann @blikethecheese He can’t argue with some people. They just won’t ever understand. The people who have been there understand it.
English

@blikethecheese Comprehension sinking in, good. Yes that’s correct. I wanted a high-power, tough, academic training program bc I thought I could excel in a place like that, and it would allow me to pursue any fellowship I wanted, with both assumptions being correct.
English

To all docs crying bc I won’t renounce my challenging surgical training, let me tell you a story. There is a huge vacuum of surgeons willing to take hand trauma call in the north Dallas metro. For over a year, our trauma hospital has been the only one to have complete coverage.
However, as surrounding hospitals lost their coverage, the transfers to our hospital have increased. One by one, the hand surgeons I work with have dropped out of the call pool bc it’s “too hard”.
So for the past two months (and the foreseeable future), I have covered every single weekend of trauma call, so that our hospital can continue to take care of patients in our area and all the surrounding areas.
Is it challenging to do my private practice plastic surgery during the week and take trauma call every weekend? Sure, but compared to my residency, it’s a breeze.
So by all means, feel free to sanctimoniously criticize me here at 745am on a Sunday while I finish up these post-op orders on this patient who stuck his hand under a lawn mower. ✌🏻

@FA_VascularMD @VascularABC If there was infection, the 8mm ringed ePTFE iliac to PFA bypass got lucky.
English

@VascularABC Thanks! Data with long term patency of cryo GSV is not the best
English

Third time is a charm! Not when it comes to surgical management of #CLTI
External iliac to profunda bypass with PTFE, then Jump graft with two cryo SFA's to peroneal bypass, done in 2015, still going strong!
(After multiple failed endo and open interventions)

@GAEscobarMD @farkomd @XavierBerardMD @westleyohman @FrankCaputoMD @AWBeckMD @biggsjmd @VascSurgMD Agree! RP and Ao Bifem bypass. If I’m gonna be in there for what appears to be the fourth (?) intervention I would disconnect the fem-fem. may be able to sew to the right iliac graft to stay out of the right groin.
English

@farkomd @XavierBerardMD @westleyohman @FrankCaputoMD @AWBeckMD @biggsjmd @VascSurgMD RP to avoid abdomen and easily control above.

Multiple prior interventions at OSH. Including an “explant” with large prior midline incision. Now referred to you. What’s your plan @XavierBerardMD @westleyohman @FrankCaputoMD @AWBeckMD @biggsjmd @VascSurgMD #AortaEd

Very fortunate to have received this year’s @VascularSVS K23 matching award. Hopefully our work will help those with CLTI on dialysis. @UFVascular @CSPH_BWH @BrighamVascular @ClevelandClinic

English

@MatthewJankoMD @KateEEngelhardt @mattsmeds We can clean it really well like chitterlings before interposing the “graft”?
English

@KateEEngelhardt @mattsmeds Since all vascular conduits for aortic graft infection are essentially equally good/bad, maybe time to try colon interposition (the Engelhardt modification)?

Gamers show off their rigs. This is my clinic rig. The dual LG hi def displays are game changing. Why just have two when you can have three? #vascsurg

@georgetolisjr Family first! All that success and goal achieving just doesn’t quite deliver like you thought it would. #priorities
