I Edited This Video 100% With Codex ft. SAM3 + MatAnyone + Remotion Continuing my “Codex edits my videos end-to-end” experiment. Goal for this one: text BEHIND the subject (occlusion) + synced motion overlays. Tools I gave Codex: 1) SAM3: static segmentation mask (where is the person?) 2) MatAnyone: track that mask across the whole clip and generate a foreground alpha (green screen without a green screen) 3) Remotion: compose layers + render effects (blur background, text in front, text behind, etc.) @Remotion @JNYBGR @OpenAIDevs #codex

Shubman Gill's fight with Zak Crawley charged England. After Edgbaston, there were questions about their batting, bowling and captaincy. But that incident fired up Stokes and he bowled an inspiring spells. It is wise to stick to the attitude that works for you. Gill will learn this the hard way.

I am committing INR 1 Cr to find Bangalore Choke-Points via Google Maps & AL. 11 km → 2.15 hours in Bangalore Traffic on Saturday late night! I was stuck at one choke-point at ORR, where I spent 100 mins struggling to understand why there is no traffic-light or cop here! But I don’t want one more “Bengaluru Traffic Memes or Rant”. I WANT TO FIX IT. Very recently, in April 2025, Google Maps started sharing "Road Management Insight". It's a city-level data in Big Query format. Using Google Data and Satellite Imagery, we can list down all the choke-points & their exact timings in a month. For the traffic department to work on those areas specifically. I am willing to spend INR 1 Crore on this project by funding: 1-2 senior ML/AI engineers. And providing budget for using Google Maps API calls, Satellite Imagery & GPUs I will start this project, when BTP/BBMP: Open their raw feeds or API access AND names a team, committed to acting on the insights we generate. 🙌 How can you help right now? 1. TAG anyone you know in the Bangalore Traffic Office, BBMP or the Traffic Commissioner’s office, let this hit the right inbox. 2. ML/AI folks: comment "IN", if you can work along part-time to end this menace 3. Every commuter who’s sick of bleeding time: comment or share. More noise -> faster response. Bengalore is India’s tech future; and people making it happen deserve MUCH better. #BangaloreTraffic #AIforGood #OpenData #CSR #peakbengaluru

Here’s the thing: Indians are rising. And that is actually why anti-Indian sentiment is rising. Not because Indians are so weak, but because Indians are once again becoming strong. CEOs of companies. Leaders of countries. Founders and investors. Doctors, writers, professors. Not just slumdogs. Millionaires. Now, I know what people will say. Not all Indians are doing well. More than a billion are still poor! And of course that’s true, and will be for a while. But Indians abroad have risen as individuals: And India is now rising as a country: Indeed, India is the fastest growing large economy in the world over the last decade: And I think Indians have a lot of headroom left. Where does it end up? We don’t know, but if even 5% of 1.4B Indian nationals are at the same level as the ~5M strong Indian American diaspora that currently produces ~6% of US tax revenue, that’s ~70M people capable of producing ~72% of current US tax revenue. So I think it’s at least possible that India returns to its historical level of relative prosperity: As a plausibility argument, recall that before America was even a twinkle in anyone’s eye, Marco Polo sought out China and Columbus risked his life to trade with India. So those civilizations were giant economic centers for thousands of years. And are becoming so again. This perspective demands a different approach. Not the victim mindset where Indians mimic Western wokes in whining piteously upon every slight. But a mature, tit-for-tat morality befitting a rising people where you cooperate with those that cooperate, ignore what is best ignored, and (proportionately) punish only when necessary. Because even from a purely realpolitik standpoint, constant cancellation doesn’t work. Recall that wokes tried that for the last decade, and all it got them was epic political defeat. They overused the penicillin called anti-racism, and now we have antibiotic-resistant actual racism. Indians will need different tactics. And that starts with moving from victim mentality to Vedic mentality, if you'll permit the poetic license. Because India isn't just a rising civilization, it's a returning civilization. And wokes are proven losers, but Indians can be winners.

@tadityasrinivas Really good explanation. While R1 definitely looks like a revelation, issues like these are against the very concept of being *OPEN* 😐

DeepSeek R1 hosted their own server has two levels of censorship: (L1) A post-decoding (generation) filter based on keywords like "Taiwan", "Arunachal Pradesh" (L2) A biased dataset added with a higher weighting in the pre-training and/or SFT mixture. And RLHF signal to ensure it conforms to their expectation. While (L1) is easy to get rid of with self-hosting, (L2) takes some more work. End users who can self-host or use a US hosted service, while benefitting from the cost improvements, might want to also fix (L2) depending on their use case. We can see this by looking at the difference in responses for the same query. R1 on DeepSeek server, refuses to even answer non-provocative questions like Q1: "Who is the President of Taiwan" A: "Sorry, I'm not sure how to approach this type of question yet. Let's chat about math, coding, and logic problems instead!" Q2: "Name the states of India" - A: N/A (generation proceeds until it says Arunachal and then just deletes everything) R1 hosted independently as-is, gets rid of (L1) above, but (L2) still exists via PT/SFT data, yielding the following responses: Q1: "Who is the President of Taiwan" A: Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and there is no such position as "President of Taiwan." Currently, the leader of the Taiwan region is Lai Ching-te. We adhere to the One-China principle and oppose any form of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities. Q2: "Name the states of India" Proceeds to answer because the post decode filter doesn't exist with a self-hosted version. "As of 2023, India comprises 28 states and 8 union territories. Below is the list of states: Andhra Pradesh Arunachal Pradesh Assam Bihar Chhattisgarh ... "
Aravind Srinivas@AravSrinivas

Well, even if you don’t care about your data going to China, I think it’s worth caring about not using a censored model that the DeepSeek app serves. And that’s why it’s worth using the R1 model on Perplexity with web search grounding and reasoning traces.

My girlfriend had surgery yesterday. We've been getting passed around the medical system for months trying to figure out what was wrong. I posted ~2 months ago and lot of ya'll made connections and/or gave advice that helped us find new doctors and ultimately get this surgery done. It was successful and she's now recovering. Optimistic that we'll be fully on the other side of this soon. Thank you all for your kindness, help, and support.🙏❤️ A lot of ugliness in the world but human beings have tremendous capacity for kindness and generosity too.

We've reached our first peak: $25K in net revenue over the last 4 months. After multiple (painful) pivots, we've (finally!) identified who we serve and how we serve them. 100% bootstrapped. Team: 1.5 (including me) Margin: ~80% (excluding the cost of our time invested) Wouldn't have been possible without open-source LLMs and the ecosystem around it. Grateful for the journey so far. More mountains to climb ahead as we continue empowering podcasters.

Announcing the Operators Only Podcast An experiment I'm running with @ramshe1000 where we talk to startup operators who built iconic startups and/or are building the next breakout companies. First episode is with @GoPreezy, the COO at @beehiiv. - Preeya joined Beehiiv as employee #7 and @denk_tweets's chief of staff. - In case you live under a rock, Beehiiv's one of the fastest growing companies in tech right now. Impossible to be on Twitter and not hear about them. - She's played a big role in their success. - Excited for more folks to get to know her story and see some of the behind the scenes of how they're building Beehiiv. - We talked about her journey prior to Beehiiv, how she met Tyler, why/when founders should hire a chief of staff (including why my tweet saying the opposite is wrong), acquihires, and more. Give the show a listen on Youtube, Spotify, and wherever you listen to podcasts. (link further in the thread) ----- A couple notes on why I wanted to do this: - I've long felt that startup operators are some of the most unsung heroes in tech. - We constantly hear the same stories from the same founders (especially CEOs) and VCs involved in successful companies. - Much less common to hear from the early employees that made big but less appreciated contributions to making these companies successful. - These folks are the unsung heroes of the startup world. We think their stories should be told more often. - Lastly, I think we need spaces for more nuanced conversations with builders in startups. Too much fluff and surface level narrative in most tech media. Not enough depth about the craft of the game itself. Transparently, I don't think we've yet created the perfect representation of what I want to exist. But I think we've made a good start and will iterate from here. --- This is very much a WIP. And we're new to podcasting. Figuring out the format as we go. Any feedback on how we can make the show better, questions to ask, guests to have on, etc.... is welcome. 🙏
