Alon Mizrahi is an Arab-Jewish writer who left Israel over genocide in Gaza. According to Alon, Israel’s political elite & society are so infused with hatred of Arabs and have enjoyed impunity for so long that region cannot achieve a lasting just peace unless Israel is dismantled

Yes, we are footing the bill for the 6000 private patients per year transferred to the NHS, But there is a bigger issue: The NHS can handle complexity, the private sector can’t And the more we diminish the NHS the less complexity it can handle mirror.co.uk/news/health/pr…

"has not faced any charges, has not been given any information on the grounds for his detention" What the hell @DavidLammy ? @Keir_Starmer?
Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI)@PHRIsrael

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, a court hearing is expected to be held regarding the extension of Dr. Abu Safiya’s detention, following a notification by the Israeli Advocate General’s office that it has requested an extension. - Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, has been held in custody in Israel since December 2024, has not faced any charges and has received no information about the grounds for his detention. Dr. Abu Safiya's lawyer has not been allowed to meet with him for more than two months, ever since his transfer to Ketziot Prison and despite reports of violence, significant weight loss and medical neglect. - Besides Dr. Abu Safiya, Israel is holding another 13 physicians and dozens of nurses and paramedics under unlawful detention. Their case illustrates only a small part of the systematic and sweeping harm inflicted on Gaza’s medical teams, which has included extrajudicial killings, as well as detention without trial, inhumane conditions, and the denial of food and medical treatment in detention. - Instead of caring for thousands of wounded people in Gaza, doctors and nurses are being held in unlawful detention in Israel. This is both a moral and legal crime. We demand the immediate release of Dr. Abu Safiya and all medical personnel currently held in Israel, and we call on the international community to intervene and put an end to this abuse. #FreeDrHussamAbuSafiya

MI6 USED TORTURE CONFESSIONS Craig Murray (@CraigMurrayOrg) was Britain's Ambassador to Uzbekistan from 2002 to 2004. What he found there was a dictatorship where people were boiled alive, tortured, and then had their confessions handed to MI6 and the CIA as usable intelligence. Murray did what you're supposed to do. He wrote formal complaints to the Foreign Office. He said, on the record, that it is morally and legally wrong to take intelligence extracted under torture. He highlighted a case where two men were boiled to death and the evidence pointed straight at state-sanctioned murder. The Foreign Office's response was to summon him back to London, hit him with 18 disciplinary charges, and tell him to resign. He refused. The charges were quietly dropped. Then they removed him from his post anyway in October 2004. Just in case you thought the message got lost. While the allegations were eventually dropped, Murray suffered a breakdown and a pulmonary embolism in the process. The British state didn't just end his career. It nearly ended his life. His internal document, later leaked to the Financial Times, confirmed that MI6 was using CIA-sourced intelligence obtained from Uzbek authorities through torture. It was written down. By an ambassador. And the response was to destroy the man who wrote it. Murray's superiors were told in plain terms that this intelligence was unreliable because it had been obtained through torture. They used it anyway. Then they smeared him in the press as a drunk and a rogue diplomat. He subsequently wrote Murder in Samarkand, a memoir that blew the whole thing open. He won the Sam Adams Award for integrity in intelligence. The US government later denied him entry under the visa waiver programme with no stated reason. The only countries that had ever barred him from entry were Uzbekistan and the United States of America. Think about that for a second. This is what whistleblowing in the national security space actually looks like. Not a Hollywood ending. Source: @Wikipedia @guardian @BBCNews @Channel4News

Murray’s whistleblowing showed the personal cost yet again, career ruined, health damaged, but he stood by the principle that democracies shouldn’t launder torture intelligence. The UK government denied wrongdoing at the time but the facts he raised have been corroborated in leaks, memoirs, and reporting.

Appalling but I believe an accurate account of whistleblower abuse. Shocking disclosures. I will order & read that book. These people should be lauded as brave, heroes yet they are repeatedly maligned & have their reputations destroyed. The same thing happened to me, alleged friends & allies in exposing bank frauds destroyed my reputation for a covert £1.1m offered by then COO of @LloydsBank They also sabotaged genuine victims claims. Money/ greed does this but they will soon be exposed, genuine advocates against bank fraud & victims deserve better. History will tell the truth in this case despite their best efforts… @efgbricklayer @BomberMorgan @Nat_Worst @MLorrM

I have expressed my fears about the changes the government are making as a result of the US pharmaceutical deal which undermine the independence of the National Institute (NICE) giving US big pharma potential of immense influence over our drugs policies. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

Israel dropped bombs on an ambulance today in South Lebanon. An ambulance. During a so-called ceasefire. And yet, no global outrage. No condemnation. No accountability. Not a peep from Western media. Not a whisper from the international community.

🚨Israel assassinated Imad Miqdad yesterday in a drone strike, targeting his solar-powered phone charging station in Gaza yesterday. Miqdad had been providing civilians with a rare means of communication amid ongoing electricity cuts. The strike killed him and destroyed the facility, further limiting access to basic services and connectivity for residents.

🚨BREAKING : In a new massacre, Israeli drones directly targeted a phone-charging point run by civilian Imad Miqdad moments ago in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, killing him along with other civilians. With no electricity infrastructure left in displacement camps, solar-powered and improvised energy points have become essential for survival, yet they are being deliberately targeted, cutting civilians off from even the most basic means of living.

The only reason that the NHS doesn’t have the staff or beds it needs is because a well-funded, well-staffed NHS removes any need for private healthcare.
