GoI and larger public need to understand how much of a difference it makes for startups to be able to tap capital easily at a lower cost if GOI funds prototypes, partakes the risks and becomes reliable in placing orders of volume, paying on time and working to mature the product. It makes a huge difference for VCs to confidently fund defence startups that the GOI and armed forces have a stake in seeing the startups succeed. This upstream feedback mechanism is key for early startups in their early and building phase.

The biggest sense of betrayal is to the young engineer in his college or on early stage of career who dreamt of either working in or creating a world class aerospace or defence company for and in India making products that Indians drool of in the West, and through it prosper themselves and create wealth locally.

It is clear that every decision maker at the highest levels doesn’t have a strong sense of what it takes to be a sovereign major power in their veins. Somehow the cost of creating a world class self reliant high performance & excellence pursuing domestic tech sector seems too alien.

@manojzxc @dev_216 The French don't part with technology. These issues resulted in the loss of the Australian Scorpene contract despite protracted negotiations. We didn't get much localisation in P75 program. IAF couldn't conclude MMRCA /MRFA for more than two decades due to localisation issues.
