Afib may accelerate CKD (Bidirectional?) #AHA24 AFIb should be a RF for CKD AFIb catheter ablation - improves kidney function Will will anti-inflammatory interventions in CKD pts
(IL-1 /L-6) also affect AF incidence along with slowing CKD progression?

Presented at #AHA24: Among patients with ventricular tachycardia and ischemic cardiomyopathy, catheter ablation as an initial therapy led to a lower risk of adverse outcomes than antiarrhythmic drug therapy. Read the full VANISH2 trial results: nej.md/3Z5ECOD

1/n We are excited to announce EchoPrime – the first echocardiography AI model capable of evaluating a full transthoracic echocardiogram study, identify the most relevant videos, and produce a comprehensive interpretation! Great work lead by @milos_ai, EchoPrime is the largest and most complex #echofirst AI model yet, trained on 10x the data of existing models.

How many #EPeeps pacemap at the rate of VT? Pacing faster creates more "TR fusion", making all pacemaps look more "epicardial". Congrats to @yasushinoda1029 @ZJameria on this work that should make us all question determination of initial slurring/ pseudodelta waves. #QSQ ""Rate-Dependent Pacemap Matching in Scar-Related Ventricular Tachycardia: TR Fusion Phenomenon" jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.…

@krishmd @srissundaram @Toaster_Pastry In my EMR, I upload the image to the patient’s chart as a media file so I can send it as an attachment within a secure message. Patients love it. I’ve had them used for holiday cards, cakes, etc.

I’m in the minority of cardiac electrophysiologists. I always collect the mapping pictures, download them to the chart report, and show them to the patient to explain what I’ve done. I doubt they understand it. But I like showing pretty pictures. What did I do here?

@AlexTurinMD I don’t usually advocate leaving the syringe off because of the risk of air embolus (albeit low). On another note, I do enjoy EP Twitter because it’s totally impossible to understand it. It’s good to be reminded there are whole other medical worlds out there.

To emphasize the point, I'll leave this here again. When you can no longer draw blood back it is almost always the case that *pulling back* on the syringe will help you salvage the line. I've seen this many, many times, both in my own lines and for countless residents. ⬛️

@forkknifecab_EP 👍 My standard set up includes RIJ access. The rare times I have approached from above have been successful with no long sheath, focal cryo for stability if needed (para-Hisian targets). I agree reach is really difficult with lateral sites though

Thanks Jeff! Luckily did not need on this one. I like the superior approach, typically I see as a bail out, unless already obtained access. I've seen reach sometimes be a challenge in adults. Do EPeeps have a sheath recipe / preference from IJ approach? Fixed type or steerable?
