If my calculations are right the fat cat boss of @stwater Liv Garfield has now earned over £31,000,000 since taking over the company in 2014. Bloody hell! All that for running a monopoly providing drinking water to customers with no choice. How hard can it be? theguardian.com/business/2024/…

@DrPeteMalliaras A full analysis of why this may have happened is a better place to start rather than random treatments. Load intensity, fatigue, strength deficits and ensuring no other injuries coming on eg early chondromalacia etc etc

1/1🤔Can you find the questionable advice in this treatment saga? (there's a poll at the end) #MythBusting #HealthFails 🏃‍♂️ Background: 35-year-old marathoner, developed patellar tendinopathy symptoms post marathon in November 2023. Only painful after running, not during.

This was one of the stand out presentations from the conference. For anyone who wants to know how to progress tendon load for the patellar tendon this is the paper
Tendon Research Group @ UD@UDtendongroup

Excellent presentation by @scattonesilva on patellar tendon load progressions. In this recent publication they’ve investigated load in patellar tendon during various exercises. Great clinical applications!! @kgSilbernagel @joshrbaxter @ASprague_PT @BiomechHullfish @ISTS_2023

@kashakhtar @gregthephysio Hi Greg hope you’re keeping well. I agree with Kash here - good clinical assessment really important. Treatment of the patient not the scan important. Having said that I’d also make sure the MRI is good quality and reported by a good MSK sports radiologist

@gregthephysio Assuming no meniscal or cartilage injury, no history of instability or mechanical symptoms, negative Lachman, pivot shift and dial, then reasonable to try non-operative management first in a controlled environment with progressive load and challenge

Some thoughts appreciated please: 16yo academy footballer with partial (75%) ACL rupture. All other structures intact. Nil sensation of instability. ACLR or rehab and see how progresses? Is age and sport a factor for primary repair in a case like this? #ACL #ACLR #knees

@Angie_Hulst @tomgoom 12 weeks is a long time to wait for an MRI report, your trust is presumably struggling. You may get some help going through PALS or other hospital procedures

Anyone know the rules on how to get access to an MRI - been told report will be done in 12 weeks and wondered if I can request this to be outsourced? #mri #acl

@DrJN_SportsMed Hi James. The SIJ and T-spine don’t look particularly inflammatory for a 40 year old. The CVJ possibly. Be interesting to see if responds well to Cox-2. Any H/O psoriasis or IBD in family? Any additional enthesitis? Thanks
