@Ryanrz @Krungoid @Hwi561 @StatisticUrban Using what criteria? If the DNA isn’t different they must not be isolated. Young males disperse long distances.

@drterdal @Krungoid @Hwi561 @StatisticUrban Yeah, but isolated population and most consider a subspecies

The Florida Panther has been nearly wiped out. It's been reduced to only a small range, mostly just protected land in the Everglades.

@MariaPeiro305 I’ve known Sydney Gruters for 15 years. She worked her way up in Congressman Vern Buchanan’s office and then Greg Steube, serving as his district manager. She’s qualified to succeed Vern Buchanan.
English

I have lived in Florida almost my entire life and I have never heard of Sydney Gruters. What has she done in Florida to deserve this glowing endorsement, besides being Joe Gruter's wife? This is why we lose seats in Florida. Trump doesn't even know who's going to enter that race and instead of waiting to see who's the best candidate, he endorses. This is what he did with weak Byron Donalds creating the issue we have now in Florida.

Wait? Crucified? You mean like the Romans did to . . . wait for it . . .Jesus?

Happy National Agriculture Day 🇺🇸
Florida’s farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our state—feeding our families, supporting our economy, and preserving our way of life.
Honored to stand with the men and women who work the land and keep Florida strong.

Dept. of Agriculture@USDA
On #NationalAgDay, we recognize the unwavering dedication of American farmers, ranchers, and producers who provide the food and resources that sustain our communities. USDA is committed to putting farmers FIRST by supporting their vital work, always ❤️🇺🇸🧑🌾 #AgDay26

.@POTUS: As the only Native American in the Senate, @MarkwayneMullin has also been a fantastic advocate for our cherished tribal communities. He's now the first member of the Cherokee Nation ever to serve as a member of the Cabinet.

@GatorGirlFL1 @AGJamesUthmeier @GovRonDeSantis My preference too. Dry aged. That’s my choice. Freedom! If my neighbor wants something different, freedom!
English

In 2024, @GovRonDeSantis signed legislation to keep lab-grown meat out of Florida.
Today, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected a Berkeley, CA-based corporation’s challenge to our law. Thank you, Chief Deputy SG Jason Muehlhoff, for arguing this case on behalf of Florida!

@floridasandy25 @AGJamesUthmeier @GovRonDeSantis Food labels are essential to freedom of choice. Government has a responsibility here.
English

@drterdal @AGJamesUthmeier @GovRonDeSantis They might not identify it as lab grown if they can’t sell it otherwise
No thanks.
English

@JackLinFLL @AGJamesUthmeier @GovRonDeSantis Agreed. People have preferences, allergies etc. I’m not an anarchist: government regulation is necessary. But let folks buy food even if I wouldn’t want it. For example, I like dry aged beef. Some people think that’s gross. We can both buy whichever labeled meat we want. Freedom!
English

@drterdal @AGJamesUthmeier @GovRonDeSantis I agree but do want a law that if a restaurant or store sells it without disclosing what it is they go to prison.
English

@RepGregSteube This is not our war! We produce our own oil and gas. And then some. Get all troops, sailors, marines etc out of the mideast right away. Do NOT vote to give $200 billion to @PeteHegseth whether by raising my taxes or borrowing for my grandkids to pay.

@WeatherProf Farmers out west rely on melting snow for summer (=dry season) irrigation.

@SenRickScott That gives leverage to wealthy legislators like yourself, over regular citizens who get elected. Y'all have to get together and compromise, as our founders expected.

Did you know politicians in Congress are getting paid during the DHS shutdown while TSA agents don’t get paid? It’s ridiculous that Congress can fail but have no accountability. I have a way to fix it: the No Budget, No Pay Act.
I want to fund ALL of DHS, but if Democrats want to fund TSA, they can get my vote with one condition: pass it with my No Budget, No Pay Act.
We can pay TSA agents, but until Democrats agree to pay ALL federal workers - ICE & CBP included - Congress shouldn’t get paid either.
Call your senator TODAY and demand we pass my bill.

@rorybowman I’ll cheer when the regime falls. But please don’t ask me to pay for it, let alone ask my sons to go. Let the Saudi regime do it. Offer to sell them tools and training. It’s not my fight.

Clear thinking matters in evaluating any war, and this article contains a good deal of clear thinking for Chicken Little "war is always bad" alarmists.

Chargé d’Affaires Katharine Beamer visited the Jalacte Border Crossing between Belize and Guatemala to reinforce U.S. commitment to securing our hemisphere, and making U.S. and Belize borders safer by curbing irregular migration, smuggling, and other illicit activities. CDA Beamer met with frontline officers from Belize Immigration, Customs, and the Agricultural Health Authority who work daily to intercept illegal crossings and contraband—protecting both Belizean and American communities from transnational criminal networks.
These officers engage daily in critical interagency coordination and enforcement to strengthen border security, uphold the rule of law, and support regional stability. Strong borders in partner countries mean safer communities in the United States. Through targeted U.S. assistance, we're helping Belize build enforcement capacity that delivers results and keeps America safe. #USinBelize #bordersecurity #strongertogether #AmericaFirst #Jalacteborder #Freedom250

Ciprofloxacin didn’t come from nature.
It came from relentless iteration and one critical question: What happens if we change just one atom?
In the 1960s, we had early quinolone antibiotics.
They worked… but barely:
Narrow spectrum.
Weak penetration.
Easy resistance.
Good start. Not good enough.
At Bayer, chemists led by Klaus Grohe got to work.
Not guessing.
Testing.
This is medicinal chemistry.
Change the molecule →
Test on bacteria →
Measure →
Repeat →
Again.
Again.
Again.
Hundreds of times.
Then came the breakthrough:
Add a fluorine atom.
One tiny modification.
That single atom:
Increased bacterial penetration.
Strengthened enzyme binding.
Expanded the spectrum.
A new class was born: fluoroquinolones.
But they didn’t stop there.
They optimized the molecule further:
Added a piperazine group.
Now it wasn’t just active - it was clinically powerful.
Out of hundreds of candidates, one stood out:
Ciprofloxacin
Potent.
Balanced.
Usable in real patients.
And here’s the part people miss:
This molecule doesn’t just treat infections.
It helps stop outbreaks - including those leading to Meningitis.
One dose.
Interrupt transmission.
Protect the group.
From lab bench → to public health tool.
No miracle.
No magic.
Just: Data. Chemistry. Persistence.
We didn’t get here by “going natural.”
We got here by asking:
What if we make it better?
