Things that have me stumped: 1969 voltage regulator. Standard 1969 GM fare. Four-wire regulator, 37A SI alternator. Here's the issue: - Does not charge the battery, runs at 12.5v - If I power the field, the alternator charges at 16V+ - When you turn the key to IGN, it smokes the regulator even before the car is started - It's the bypass wire that does the initial activation that smokes. - All four connector wires tone out where they should without any shorts to anywhere else. - The Field line measures 4-8 ohms to ground at the regulator - The Field and Relay terminals are correct, and they both measure high impedance one way and low the other, which is all I know to check on an alternator. The only logical conclusion to me is that for some reason the field line is acting as a near short, but when I measure it, I'm seeing 4-8 ohms, in spec. So I'm out of ideas!

A 10-year-old who is tall, kicks it long, clears it and gets told every single week they're playing centre back, because it's convenient for the coach. Fast forward to 15 and they've never played in midfield, never tried up front and never been given the chance to find out what else they might be capable of.
