@ryan_prend @andreamatranga publix has soft and hard baguettes. but like everywhere stores sell things to the taste of their customers. most americans prefer soft breads, rightly or wrongly.

@andreamatranga It’s the crust. Every grocery store has baguettes, but they have a soft crust. You have to go to a bakery or an organic store for a hard crust

If a foreign army occupied Texas, American militias would mine the roads. We know this because Texans will tell you themselves. Proudly. They have bumper stickers about it. They have prepared for it. The entire cultural mythology of the American gun owner is built on exactly this premise: When "they" come, we will be ready. "They." Some imagined foreign force that will one day arrive to take American freedom. The irony is total and it is never examined. The people most loudly committed to the fantasy of armed resistance against foreign occupation are the same people who looked at Iraqis mining roads against American soldiers and called them terrorists. The principle they claim to love, an armed population will resist occupation, they apply exclusively to themselves. The moment someone else applies it to themselves, in an actual occupation rather than an imagined one, the principle evaporates and what remains is: "Why do they hate us?"

@affairemayaling you can find amazing breads in america if you go to traditional bakeries. can find decent breads in supermarkets. but it's the same in europe. they don't have a supermarket culture like we do. they stop by specialty shops/farmer markets. so, it's completely disingenuous

absolutely brutal analysis of the Jaguars draft here: "The arrogance that James Gladstone demonstrated in this draft is unprecedented. I have never seen a more pathetic group of players from a team that had four top 100 picks" more: youtube.com/shorts/dm27Vgh…

@deadend_king The thing a lot of single guys or unmarried guys don't see is that women hide the behavior until they have commitment. Once they get the ring the ugly side comes out. They feel like they don't have to compete or even try anymore. You won't see it coming until it happens.

Man… I don’t even know how this argument started, but you can literally see the moment it hits him. That look in his eyes is crushing 😔 She’s out here calling his plant job “easy” “you just walk from building to building” while she’s “exhausted every day” from work, dinner, and getting the kids to bed. Then she loses it because he comes home at 11pm and jumps straight on his game. Like… what else is the man supposed to do when the whole house is asleep? The only logical follow-up question left: “So what game you playing?” (It’s Marvel Rivals, king 😂) Would you actually put up with this? Be honest in the comments 👇

@WallStreetApes She’s putting it mildly people on food stamps. Use those food stamps to be able to get their children cake an ice cream for their birthday. It’s the only way they can afford to get a cake you can’t even buy the products to make one. Also kids deserve treats and snacks along…

Florida resident demands action against new SNAP Food Stamps restrictions “Somebody needs to do something about this. It's affecting everybody” She says she can no longer buy her ice cream with her EBT “No sodas. You can't get your coffee creamer. You can't even get ice cream. That's, you know, that's wrong. What am I gonna do? — that's wrong” Here’s a list of newly restricted items in Florida - Soda (including regular, diet, and zero-sugar varieties)
- Any carbonated beverage flavored or sweetened with added sugar or artificial sweeteners (e.g., Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, etc.)
- Energy Drinks -Candy
- Ultra-processed / Shelf-stable Prepared Desserts (e.g., packaged cookies, snack cakes, certain pastries, donuts, etc.)
Coffee, tea, or substantially coffee/tea-based drinks; sports drinks like Gatorade are still eligible

@WallStreetApes To be fair, the artificial sweetener is kind of bullshit, why, because that would include MANY of the single packets to flavor water. Florida be too hot to not be able to flavor your water.

@iky_fwjett The cemetery sold family plots that allowed for 4 family members. Until recently... Then that was changed to 3... So when my gran died she couldn't be buried with her family. And now my uncle will not be able to be buried with my aunt (she's with my grandparents).

after my dad died, we called the funeral home to make arrangements. funeral home called the cemetery to coordinate. the cemetery lady calls my older sister a day later, saying "we can't find a record of your parents owning plots here". now here's the thing. this cemetery is sold out. it's in the center of the city so it can't expand. no more room, hasn't been for years atp. my parents bought 3 plots right before that happened. my sister starts panicking. i do what any middle child would do.

@CuirCannage certain clothes can't go in the dryer. that's what a dry cleaner is for. also who wants the same clothes forever? do people in europe wear the same few outfits their whole lives or something? I've had plenty of clothes for a decade but i purchase new nice clothes pretty regularly

It's a sign of the times that as soon as you heard there was a shooting at WHCD, you heard speculation it might be staged. Why? Because we've lost all faith in our government. We know they lie to cover up the crimes of the powerful, we don't trust anything anymore. Rightly so.

@0xleegenz but we would be out of alignment with earth rotation around the sun which seems okay at first until 40 years from now when the seasons are all out of alignment. to be fair it helped julius ceaser cross into greece, so not all bad

If we had 13 months instead of 12, every month would be exactly 28 days, the 1st would always Monday and the 28th would always be a Sunday Every month would have exactly 4 weeks instead 4.257 and we would properly align ourself with the cycle of moon
