@SCynic1 I was in the guides & the brownies, my daughters did rainbows, one went onto the Scouts. It matters more than people think, because it’s another thing that once lost is gone for good. Hope not but such a shame to see groups close when so few remained anyway as well as the WI etc.

The Guides--UK's version of the Girl Scouts--openly welcomed trans girls for the past decade. This decision is solely because of pressure brought by transphobes who are obsessed with schadenfreude against kids they don't care about and don't want to know. That's all it is.

@BradfemlyWalsh Once it was for a kids carol concert literally just said he’d been & left etc. think it was on purpose really. Now divorced, but I’d paid towards that car & didn’t drive so it always kind of annoyed me.

As someone with an ex who did this, the reasons seem to be: not realising/accepting that women aren't physically identical to men, not wanting to have to compromise what they want to do to accommodate someone else, and simply caring more about their fun than anyone else's welfare

It would be fascinating to know which trans people Denyer is referring to here. The vulnerable children who have other problems (autism, anxiety, eating disorders, etc)? Or the men who transitioned well into adulthood and therefore have no experience of puberty blockers?

Trans people are so often excluded from decisions made about them. I am concerned the puberty blockers trial has been paused not for clinical reasons, nor because govt listened to trans people's constructive concerns about how it will be run, but as a political decision...

@PrishaMosley Yes always seen something between making yourself look bigger or scarier etc. especially common with those who have a lot of tattoos & or body modification, leather jackets etc
& body builders who also take T etc. & steroids, but comes from insecurity & fear of others often etc.

So many women try to escape men by becoming unattractive to men…. This leads to behaviors like transition, getting covered in tattoos and piercings, shaving the head bald….
And the truth is it doesn’t get you left alone, it gets you ridiculed.

@BradfemlyWalsh To be fair my first husband refused to have a phone & would disappear for weekends, but that was a very long time ago. But when I had a job that often meant not being able to leave on the dot etc. it was just one of those things, still at least don’t have that concern now

@BradfemlyWalsh Not quite the same but my ex used to come pick me up sometimes from work or whatever & if I was 5 minutes late, he’d just drive off & not answer his phone.
