MAJOR ARMS HAUL: ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS WEAPONS CACHE IN PHERZAWL #AssamRifles, in coordination with Pherzawl Police, carrien intelligence-based operation in the general area between Ngampanung and Phulpui in Pherzawl District, Manipur on 01 May 2026. During the operation, the team recovered a significant cache of arms and war-like stores. The recovery included seven country made single barrel guns, one pistol, one .303 rifle with magazine, two Pompi, 32 Pompi bombs, one Motorola communication set with charger and 51 mortar rounds. No apprehensions were made during the operation. The timely recovery assumes added significance in view of the approaching anniversary of the Manipur conflict on 03 May, a period often requiring heightened vigilance.
