But California paid the national average for fuel instead of the highest taxes in the country, drivers would save over $565 million every week.

Here’s the back of the envelope math:
CA uses 258M gallons of gasoline + 67M gallons of diesel weekly.
Prices are $1.81/gal higher for gas and $1.51 higher for diesel than the national average.
That means Californians pay $465M extra for gasoline and $100M extra for diesel every week.
War in Iran or not, Californians are paying hundreds of millions more each week because of California policies.
