@Rothmus Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. That’s the bottom line. The world should be grateful the US is intervening.

Wise words by Lee Kuan Yew. Owning a house is a tangible investment in one's country and a stake in its protection. For those who can't afford a house or choose not to own a house, owning shares in companies in their country will achieve the same, a stake in its defense.
Oliver Kim@oliverwkim

Lee Kuan Yew on homeownership as nation-building: "if the soldier's family did not own their homes, he would soon conclude he would be fighting to protect the properties of the wealthy." From my new post on Singapore's HDBs

.@pmarca on the 5 key traits of a real innovator: 1. "Just flat-out open to new ideas... And the nature of trait openness means you're not just open to new ideas in one category, you're open to many different kinds of new ideas." 2. "You need somebody who's really willing to apply themselves, typically over a period of many years to accomplish something great... You need somebody with an extreme willingness to basically defer gratification." 3. "If they're not ornery, they'll be talked out of their ideas... Because the reaction most people have to new ideas is 'Oh, that's dumb.'" 4. "They just need to be really smart because it's hard to innovate in any category if you can't synthesize large amounts of information quickly." 5. "If they're too neurotic, they probably can't handle the stress." @hubermanlab

According to Grok, there are only about 1 in 200,000 people like that. That’s around 41,000 people in the world at the present time x.com/i/grok/share/9…

The Netherlands is changing their tax on investments to 36% on paper profits, or unrealized gains, BEFORE you sell investment. So if you buy a stock for $100,000 at $100 per share (1,000 shares) then the stock increases to $200 per share, you have a $100,000 profit on paper. You would owe $36,000 in taxes. But then the next year if the value of the shares declines back to $100 per share ... you have made nothing, but you still paid $36,000 in taxes. Investors and entrepreneurs are calling it, "the dumbest thing any government on Earth is doing right now".

"using the language of your opponent is the first step to losing" Exactly. Leftists redefine the terms that will favor their position. Never let your opponent frame the debate.
Lulu Cheng Meservey@lulumeservey

It’s not a Billionaire Tax It’s an unrealized gains tax, a property tax, a forced liquidation tax, an asset inventory exercise, a privacy invasion, an exit incentive — take your pick But using the language of your opponent is the first step to losing

I keep telling liberals that there's nothing wrong with picking cotton. It's good honest work. Picking cotton and earning your own living is more honorable than sitting at home awaiting government welfare checks. Many Southerners even today work outdoors daily in the hot sun.
Soulpelt Dux@soulpelt

@WanjiruNjoya The right to do *what*? By their laws you would be in chains, picking cotton and forced to have as many children as physically possible.

The core argument of critical race theory is quite literally that any bad thing Blacks or other minorities do is white people's fault. The core argument of later-wave feminism is quite literally that any bad thing women do is men's fault. I can point you to chapter and verse here, if you want - i.e., Kendi (2020: 12). These are stupid and untenable ideologies.
