Few points on the apparent F-15 shoot-down and rescue efforts:
1. A single fallen F-15 in combat after over a month and over 15,000 US strikes is surprising only in that it took so long. That is an unbeatable record. There is air superiority over much of Iran, not air supremacy.
2. If the US is sending Black Hawks and Hercules deep into Iran, they know what they are looking for, i.e., ejected pilots, and most likely they know exactly where to pick them up and their condition. So they will likely find them before the IRGC.
3. If Iranian TV is asking the local tribes to capture the missing pilots, the IRGC know that trying to find them before the US is either impossible for them or would be suicidal.
Let’s pray that the pilots successfully ejected and found a good place to hide, and that they are already safely picked up, with amazing stories to tell.

This is very hard for me to write after both five years of reporting independently in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia & having grown up in the DMV. Members of the Crime Scene Unit and federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) removed evidence during the execution of a search warrant after a U.S. Park Police officer was shot in Southeast Washington, D.C., United States, on March 24, 2026. The officer was shot while inside an unmarked vehicle on the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place SE, around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Park Police officials. U.S. Park Police were in the area investigating an earlier incident. Park Police state the officer was working undercover in a white Tesla when two suspects opened fire at his moving vehicle. The Metropolitan Police Department interim chief reports the Park Police officer was the only person in the car and drove himself about a half mile from Queens Stroll Place SE to Benning Road SE near its intersection with Southern Avenue. 21-year-old Darren Foster and 22-year-old Asheile Foster, both of Southeast Washington DC, were arrested for shooting a US Park Police officer last night on Queens Stroll Place SE. Both suspects are charged with Assault on a Federal Police Officer (Gun).

I’m going to say this despite what it will do to me politically - I think the Virginia redistricting is extremely anti-democratic and that it is a reactionary policy to Donald Trump that was created by DC consultants…
