Building this site on Replit was simple AND fun. I remember how excited I first was when AppEngine launched; Replit's infra takes that concept to whole new level. And with their agent, apps that used to be complicated are available to everyone. Strongly recommend.

When I first spoke out about the genocide, I was one of the few voices in tech, and it came at a cost. I faced sabotage especially from the VC class: lies, leaks, threats, and blocked investments. It was painful, but I never once regretted standing up for the children in Gaza. Today, the tide in tech has shifted. The truth is undeniable. If you’ve been holding back, now is the time to speak out and call out anyone supporting or celebrating genocide. It won’t cost you much—in fact, it will earn you respect, and more importantly a clear conscious. Plus, alienating those who will hate you for speaking is a feature, not a bug.

I’ve been at @_buildspace since day one. I poured my heart and soul into this thing for the last four years. And now, in the next few weeks, it will probably be forgotten by most. But, that’s okay — there are a ton of amazing things that came from it and to look back on. The reality is, the majority of our world is made up of things that will come and go. It reminds me of a tattoo I got many years ago of the lyrics, “Nothing will sustain, nothing is built to last” When people see it, they usually get a negative vibe from it. But, it’s actually not meant to be interpreted like that at all. It’s a reminder to me that no matter how hard I try to keep something going, it will eventually give way to some change that's needed in my life. Time and time again, I’ve seen that theory proven in my personal life, my professional life, and even in my friends lives — it’s truly the only constant. So, as buildspace starts to make it’s way to the background for me, I’ll be picking up the “foundational” pieces to make my new foundation better and stronger. And, that’s all thanks to: - Every single person that ever checked out ZipSchool or buildspace. - Every single person that felt comfortable enough to share their life stories / hardships with me. - The people who worked beside me day after day to bring this thing to life. You want to look away, but you see them everywhere. Their ads on your social, their name in the media, your dream clients on their website. But you know what else they got? Bigger company bloat. Overflowing obligations. Narratives to uphold. Appearances to maintain. Entitlement. Too much overhead. They’re slow. They’re conservative. They talk too much. They’ve stopped taking risks. They’re resting on their laurels, gliding on their reputation. They’re on defense. What they’ve really got is a lot to lose. What do you got? Hunger. Drive. Grit. Scrappiness. Independence. You’re on offense. You don’t have enough, which is why you’re dangerous. You have no choice but to be clever and creative. To make up for what you don’t have with something they can’t have: The underdog spirit. You can move. You can adjust. You can adapt. You can get it done while they’re still stuck deciding what to do. Small is not a stepping stone. Small is not less than. It’s greater than. It’s faster than. It’s better than. Savor your position. You don’t get to be the underdog forever. The baton will be passed. But for now, it’s your magic wand. Use it. We stand with the underdogs.
