We’re building an AI that calls your parents to preserve their stories, wisdom, and practical knowledge before it’s lost—then lets your family query it like having a conversation with them anytime. So far, families (existing users) have captured everything from their grandfather’s immigration stories to the location of important documents—and one daughter told us she’s been asking her dad’s AI about home repair advice he shared, just two weeks after his passing. demo url: youtube.com/shorts/t4g7tHn…

Name ONE highly valued company that allows its software engineers to regularly use AI. You can’t because there are none. If “vibe coding” was so good, it would have been adopted by industry leaders already.

I’m excited to welcome two legends of developer tools, Pete Hunt (@floydophone) and Nick Schrock (@schrockn), to Vercel. Pete was one of the pioneers of @reactjs at Meta. He made an early bet to power Instagram Web with ⚛️ React, evangelizing it internally and externally. He will be running Frameworks and leading @nextjs. I couldn’t imagine a better person to lead React’s most popular framework to even greater heights. Nick co-invented @graphql, solving some of the gnarliest data infrastructure and access issues at Facebook scale, with a delightful developer experience. He will be working on Agentic Developer Experience, solving the problem of enabling the next billion agents and leading the way to a future of self-improving software. It’s a dream-come-true for a founder of a startup to welcome engineering minds of this caliber who are also wonderful humans. You probably want to work with them, and they’re hiring 😁. Their DMs are open, from job applications to bug reports!

Are you kidding me? Imagine applying for a company where the guy literally warns you that you won’t be happy and you’ll probably hate most of it. People who are genuinely at the highest level are happy the entire time. The only people not happy are the ones trying to cope for being in second place.

now that i think about it, it’s genuinely cool how @t3dotcodes uses the og harness to actually do things. it seemed superficial in the beginning but not anymore.

@bentlegen i absolutely love this take. articles like this are very telling of what the mental state of leadership looks like. moreso, i think it’s also insight into what the company’s overall health looks like.

btw when leaders, founders, CEOs, etc make statements like this at an all hands, it’s not random Han didn’t get inspired by that Travis Kalanick marathon comment in March then decide to whip up his team 3 months later. It’s almost certainly a reaction to what’s he’s sensing internally - like maybe a specific deal was lost because people were too casual, or maybe it’s a general lack of urgency. Maybe Mintlify’s facing serious headwinds from coding agents that can easily whip up docs and he needs his team to understand that they need to dial in if they want a return on their equity. Whether this is the right solution is another topic

i'd like to counter that by saying it is also way harder to retain users, especially as you're finding PMF. people just want something that works for their use case almost immediately. and because the cost of building is so low, people don't think twice about switching, since there are at least two other options doing the same thing. one bad ux move and people want to switch immediately.

we're in a time where it feels like every company is being reduced to an api switching products is easier than ever with the help of AI and yet the majority of companies being founded are B2B

@jia_seed imo i think the problem is that there are a lot of founders who focus too much on being a founder rather than actually solving a problem. too much enthusiasm around being the boss and no curiosity about the problem.

in 2026 it feels like indie hacker is a nicer role than founder when i think of indie hackers, i think of curiosity, enthusiasm, skill, and craftiness when i think of a founder in this day and age, i think of a different definition that at times isn't so positive
