The short deadline our government gives STEM international students to find a sponsor for their work visa is increasingly unrealistic in Trump's economy. I’m introducing the Stop the Brain Drain Act to extend the period that graduates on F-1 student visas can remain in the United States. This bill is an important step to provide international students, who've graduated from our universities, opportunities for success without having to leave the country.

NIAC, working with @RedEagleLaw, has forced ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to release key data on the agency's arrests and deportation of Iranian nationals. ICE is among the least transparent government agencies, and it has been intimately involved in violating the rights of vulnerable members of the Iranian community here in the United States. NIAC is proud to play a small role in shining a light on their targeting of Iranians in the U.S., and in so doing, defending the rights of our community against an agency that has engaged in widespread abuses. The data confirms some alarming findings: - The youngest Iranian in ICE detention is a 5 year old child in Texas - 300 Iranian arrests across June and July 2025 alone - 577 Iranians held in ICE detention as of December 21, 2025 - Deportations to Iran, including a flight carrying dozens of Iranians on September 30, 2025 At the same time, the data also shows that legal challenges have worked. Many Iranians who could get legal support and fight their case were ultimately released through bond, parole, supervision orders, or rulings from immigration judges – underscoring how many arrests lacked a sufficient legal basis and why community legal support remains so critical.
