The upcoming updates for the FAsset system could be one of the most important unlocks yet for XRP utility. Why? Because XRPL destination tags are designed to make the bridge far more exchange-native: users should be able to mint FXRP directly from supported exchange withdrawals and redeem directly to supported exchange deposit addresses. That means the path from idle XRP to onchain yield gets much shorter. Flare will enable a flow that can meet XRP liquidity where it already lives! And once that happens, the incentive structure changes. Users get a clearer path to put XRP to work. Exchanges, in turn, have a reason to care, because passive balances become easier to pull into yield-bearing environments. The result is a net positive for everyone: better UX, better capital mobility, and stronger pressure for the market to take XRPFi seriously.

Timeline is busy socializing losses and grave dancing while a few are actually thinking about system design. Market is inevitably moving toward tokenized credit, stablecoin rails, and real-world financial workflows. But the industry is only halfway thru tokenization, and that is just the first step. The harder problem is building systems that keep execution private while making solvency, risk, compliance, and settlement verifiable. @FlareNetworks’ answer is FCC: private compute in TEEs, threshold-controlled execution, and proof-backed outputs verified on Flare while XRPL remains the asset and issuance layer. That is the more interesting fight from here. @hugoPhilion should go deeper on it at XRP Las Vegas.
Hugo Philion@HugoPhilion

If you think this weekend was bad wait until people are flinging around tokens representing under collateralised loans at scale. This industry is going to have to get serious about risk fast. At the moment risk monitoring is done by closed groups and clearly hasn’t worked well. Flare Confidential Compute is perfectly positioned for building open and verifiable risk monitoring. Think of what can be built in it as the Equifax of crypto.

Very interesting paper! F-Procure explores a modular procurement framework built on @FlareNetworks, combining blockchain execution, smart contracts, ERP interoperability, and compliance-aware governance. The idea is that procurement steps like tender creation, bid submission, award, and audit trails could become far more verifiable on Flare. This is also where something like @ProofRails could be relevant as the layer that could turn those blockchain-based workflow events into institution-ready evidence: what happened, when it happened, which rules applied, and what proof supports the final decision. Kudos to @CAYPAX_ on this work.

They used to talk about blockchain and the future of finance. 10000+ rug pulls, exploits, failed projects with no funding, etc later, with billions in raised funds that have gone through the VC -> whale flows via DeFi 1.0, 2.0 etc, this industry is now feeling a lot closer to a finance industry. It’s taken 6 years since I started but a lot of the pieces have been figured out. The biggest hurdles are still larger financial instititions considering “how can I get our leadership comfortable with your permissionless chain + defi protocols etc” although step by step, these are being figured out, gradually. We will see repos onchain with stablecoin settlement, we will see other structured products launching. I imagine a world where JP offer BTC as the underlying alongside gold / index funds etc and there’s some other derivatives priced on top. Crypto as a commodity that can serve as collateral, also as an exchange currency etc. The internet was adopted because it was big and permissonless and opened up opportunities. Same for public blockchains. We’ll have our https:// through various secure privacy solutions (flare is building these), segregated vaults etc via qualified custodians like BitGo etc.. there will be granular modular systems that people can use to sign with faceID or with their ledger devices.. we’ll deploy agents on our behalf, agents will deploy their own sub agents. Cross chain private margin trading, TCLEs, all of it. There will still be gambling. There will still be trading. Stablecoins have been the constant growth engine behind the space. It’s all exciting. It’s slow. It’s sometimes arduous, but it’s happening.

@FlareNetworks 7/7 FIP.16 reduces to one question: Does ecosystem activity grow fast enough to fund the revenue that replaces inflation? Scarcity isn’t declared by a whitepaper. It’s earned by the network’s productivity. 👉 More DeepDives: janusthewatcher.substack.com

FIP.16 seals the FLR pressure tank for me. MEV captured. Inflation cut 40%. Fees recycled & burned harder. Network activity = upward pressure. Real value accrual unlocked. Bar raised for network providers. Revenue sustainability for core. Well done, @FlareNetworks. #Yes

Okay so there’s a lot moving right now and I’ll be locked in for the next few days. I’ve been going through hundreds of questions and DMs around the upcoming FIP, so a few things to keep in mind: • Yes, it’s a big proposal with multiple components. We’ll break it down properly in a Space on Tuesday. I’ll make sure the hard questions get asked. • Take the time to read it yourself. Avoid filling gaps with rumours, there are still areas that need proper clarification. • The key areas people keep coming back to are clear: FIRE, MEV, and protocol-level value capture, including who actually wins. • Voting runs from April 17 to April 24. I expect a high probability of passing. The incentive alignment coming out of this should be meaningfully stronger, and I’m personally very optimistic. There will also be a lot of educational content coming out of this. I’ll be covering it from different angles and I encourage other creators to do the same. On other fronts, there’s a lot happening with @Web3_Matters, ShipYard, and everything unfolding in the agent space. Make sure to tune in to today’s livestream at 4pm UTC. We also secured a strong visibility opportunity for @ProofRails. We’re working full speed with the team, and hopefully we’ll have more to share next week. My availability will be limited over the next four days. Most content will be scheduled, and for anything urgent feel free to reach out to my assistant (IYKYK). We keep building. Good times ahead! ☀️ 🐦

In 2025, Flare has already checked 4 major boxes, even without counting partnerships: 1/ FXRP launch 2/ Firelight launch 3/ FDC connecting to web2 4/ Victor (@0xQuantic) joining Flare as a contributor, and honestly, this one could end up being the most underrated of them all. #Flare #DeFi #Web3Community @ProofRails

New assumptions; @FlareNetworks $FLR 1. $FXRP hits 5B on Flare. 2. FIP16 passes. 3. Clarity Act passes. 4. Firelight covers $50B with $stXRP. 5. $XRP does a 10x by years end. 6. FLR 2.0 ships. 7. $FBTC ships. Grok says $FLR = $.75- $1.50 by years end.🤑🦬

@HugoPhilion If speculative tokens are losing popularity, why is FLR dropping even harder and steeper than the others

One of the reasons that most cryptos are down so much in the last year is that tokens with no fundamental economic utility and whose value was based almost entirely on speculation have fallen hugely out of favour. The FLR governance proposal enshrines an end to end economic system for FLR.

@HugoPhilion @CommunityFlare @BrukerikkenavnJ If FLR holders aren’t buying at this price, who will create the fireworks? The crash began right after the long-awaited FXRP drop. Why change proposals only now? Will these last-minute tweaks even matter? A few% pump that’s just a one-day show will only accelerate the dump.

Were XRP to moon all that would happen is that your FXRP collateral ratio, relative to your borrowed stablecoin position, would improve. There isn’t IL because you are borrowing stables against your FXRP not trading your FXRP for stables. Example: XRP is $1 for simplicity sake. You deposit 100 FXRP (worth $100) into a lending protocol (eg Mystic) and borrow $50 of stablecoin against it. You now put that stablecoin to work (or more likely a vault does it for you). Now let’s say XRP goes to $100 - your deposited FXRP is now worth $10,000 against which you have borrowed $50 dollars. You simply pay your $50 dollars back (+interest) and get your $10k worth of XRP back.

Some info @FlareNetworks here and what is to potentially come
Anubis ☀️@Anubis_Crypto_

Since February, @HugoPhilion has been breadcrumbing us about the upcoming governance proposal (FIP). The latest update from March 27th confirms one thing: it’s a behemoth. 12 pages of technical meat designed to radically change how $FLR accumulates value. What do we know for sure? - First, we are ending the "tag-along" correlation. Hugo openly admits that FLR currently moves with the broader market, completely ignoring the ecosystem’s growth. This new mechanism is designed to cut that cord once and for all. - Second, the "novel way of building a block." This is the keyword. We aren't talking about tweaking block times; we are talking about what happens inside the block on an economic level. - Third, XRPFi is the foundation. The proposal will categorically link the surge in activity on FAssets (especially XRP) directly to the demand for the $FLR token. - Lastly, inflation is just the side dish. Yes, it will be lower, but Hugo noted this is only a "small part" of the whole. The architecture is the main course. My analysis and what you should actually expect: If you think these 12 pages are a primitive proposal like "let’s burn 30% of the supply" or "let’s do market buybacks," then you clearly don’t know Hugo. He doesn't waste his time on basic mechanisms that provide a temporary pump only to leave nothing but ashes behind. I am expecting a sophisticated, refined, and - let’s be honest - complex mechanism. We are going to spend hours sitting over this document, dissecting every single sentence until that "AHA!" moment finally hits. It is exactly like the Flare Data Connector. In the beginning, nobody understood the sheer power of it until we saw how it trustlessly pulls data from other chains. This is going to be financial engineering of the highest order. We are moving toward a reality where $FLR becomes the lifeblood of XRPFi. The mechanism will likely ensure that: More transactions / More FAssets = Higher weight and value for every single $FLR token. This is not a "burn." This is an architectural enforcement of value. I am waiting for this document with coffee in hand, because I can feel that this is the moment Flare stops being a "project with potential" and becomes the bedrock of a new on-chain economy. #FlareNetwork #FLR #XRPFi #CryptoAnalysis #DeepDive

We're nearing 75% of our 65M $FXRP target. This on-chain collateral is the proof institutions need, they can verify the foundation themselves. Retail is building the foundation. Institutions are watching, waiting for their moment to enter.
