I’m excited today to share Grapevine, a system that makes it really easy for AI agents to search company knowledge across, Slack, Notion, codebase, and more. The first app we’re launching with it is a company GPT that works remarkably well, better than any alternative today.

I built a little app to reminisce on Gather's 5 year journey, for our last offsite before the company split. It takes our Slack history + all-hands slides, and (using AI) turns them into a timeline of monthly, coffee-table-book-style articles. (1/x)

Excited to announce that @simpleailab has raised a $14M seed round led by @firstharmonic. For the past year, we’ve been building AI voice agents to transform direct-to-consumer sales. We fundamentally believe that voice AI is the future of all B2C calls.

Sharing some big news: we’re spinning @gather_town out as an independent profitable business, and our AI team (myself included) will be joining @figma very soon! While Gather hasn’t become the venture-scale success we initially aimed for, I am proud of what we’ve built and I believe it is better suited to serve our customers going forward. I have the upmost confidence in @7Samsmith7 's ability to lead the team going forward, and he’s going to be accompanied by many well-tenured Gather team members. Most importantly, the team will be focused purely on making Gather the best version of itself, rather than trying to chase speculative, big-if-true bets. For myself and other members of Gather’s AI team. We’re excited to join Figma because their vision is very aligned with our own (make work closer to play), and I believe their mission represents the essence of AI optimism & human creativity. It’s been a big year for faith in the Kothari household. We began the year with a visit to the new Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In the summer, I took the kids to Palitana, the Jain temple town I grew up visiting every year. And over Thanksgiving, we stood inside St. Peter’s Basilica and were blessed to see the new Pope. Our home is a tapestry of traditions: our family follows Jainism, I’m shaped by Buddhist ideas, my wife believes deeply in Hindu Gods, my daughter goes to a Catholic school, and my son attends a Jewish preschool. Somehow, all of it works. In fact, it’s made me realize how powerful faith can be in a child’s life. I didn’t appreciate this growing up, but I see now how much grounding, meaning, and strength it can offer. In the U.S., religion has been declining and non-belief is rising. I hope we can find a way to rekindle a sense of faith, whatever form it takes.
