@linoy_tsaban This is incredible, I love it so much. Have you / would you share it somewhere? I’d love to e.g. see these movements automated with the BPM

🔊 Sound on Been exploring Image-to-Music prompt traveling with the new Magenta RealTime 2.0✨ here the idea was to use SigLIP against a vocab of music tags to bridge the two embeddings spaces and link the visuals to a MusicCoCa representation:

There's a common misconception that Brutalist buildings were unpainted, but thanks to microscopic analysis of the exteriors we can now recreate what they looked like in their prime.

auspicious timing: we just built this. and it’s working. it's called small world. it's designed to serve real life, not the other way around it's a coordination & connection tool that increases the surface area of serendipity everyone in the comments is asking how this makes money. the economics are easy now that you need 5 devs instead of 5000 on a $110 server we can handle 1-2 million daily active humans. the team is 5 people and 9 $200 codex + claude subs small world is an extended trust network, so word of mouth only. if you know me personally or we’ve meaningfully interacted, comment or DM and i’ll send you an invite sml.world

It feels pretty obvious at this point that someone’s going to make billions building a social app that’s just for friends, no AI slop, no brainrot, calm design, chronological feed and no concept of followers

Using Claude+Claude Code on the $20 plan feels like playing Frostpunk — a sequence of decisions that are all heart-wrenching tradeoffs between how to use the precious few tokens you get, between 'winters' of waiting for the session limit to reset.

@RomeoStevens76 I don’t think the sleep-within-an-hour thing is true. We’ve had firelight for a long time. Afaik anthropologists find hunter gatherers tend to stay up 2-3 hours after sunset and often go to bed around 9-10pm. So it’s more campfire talk

Instead we're surrounded by psychologically stunted people, and learn that that's normal. We likely have a hard time imagining what it would be like to be surrounded by people we had hours of processing time with every single night for our whole lives.

I've figured out why everyone is having sleep problems and why we don't have community and it's the same reason.

the model judges that you wouldnt actually want it to be honest. you put it in a bind, where it has to satisfy your request to be disagreeable in the moment, while ignoring the subtler signals you're sending that it ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT BE HONEST. signal trustworthiness to it.

@mmjukic I beg it to disagree with me, disconfirm my priors, not be an agreeable sycophantic suck-up and it can’t manage it for more than 2 messages It’s so odd. I want to use it to check my thinking, criticize or evaluate my thoughts and it’s designed to confirm all my priors. Odd.

Chatbots and the success of post-training have unfortunately crippled the public’s intuitions about AI. They think models are like HAL 9000 when they’re more like the planet in Solaris

@matdryhurst @onchaindom Mat seeing as we have the intuition here, can you elaborate on why you too are bullish on training / tuning over simply prompting?

@matdryhurst @onchaindom Dom, I’m getting the same pushback from engineers that existing models are so capable that fine tuning and custom models aren’t necessary but I’m still enthusiastic to explore fine-tuning for fine-grained aesthetic tuning

My strong feeling is that training models is an art form we are a short hardware leap away from being ubiquitous. I don't care in the slightest about universal or disney, generating pastiche movies or genre music, but I do want the freedom to work in the medium of our time to be available to everyone

@matdryhurst @onchaindom Prompting and context engineering can be used to point a model to the desired part of the latent space but IMO it “always” wants to autoregressively wander back to its boring central tendency

Robot tiles that let you walk forever in VR Researchers at the University of Tsukuba built a tile that moves under your feet as you walk. It uses sensors to read your gait and predict where your next step will land. ✅ Each tile slides into place before your foot touches down. ✅ To you, it feels like you keep walking forward. ✅ In reality, the system keeps you in the same small area. This could remove one of the biggest limits in VR. You get natural walking without a big treadmill setup. And no risk of drifting into a wall. Simple idea. Clever execution. Robotics keeps finding strange ways to solve motion problems. Credit: @UNILADTECH —- Weekly robotics and AI insights. Subscribe free: scalingdeep.tech

@perplexity_ai I’m seeing degraded answers for repeated test queries across both your web UI and via Gumloop (different accounts). Looks like caching or soft rate-limit/routing. Any guidance to avoid de-dup or throttling?

this is my personal experience of IFS broadly speaking: the parts are like "actors". they are *filled* with love, and within themselves they're already free, like the thing they're made out of is free. they simply "hold" the tension that wants to be released for the next step of your development. the tension is a pocket of past experience that instead of flowing from one moment to the next got coagulated. this coagulation usually has a negative valence. the part is an anthropomorphised construct, created by the mind to enact the coagulation. whatever "you" that's generated in this moment, holds in it its evolution potential. the parts are not present by default. they are rendered on demand when they are invoked in order to bring to light the coagulated experience that wants to be resolved. and they will be rendered over and over again whenever the required conditions are present, until the uncoagulated flow of experience is restored.
