@SpireJim @PraiseKwats Some of these people are lowlifes that social media has given opportunity to cut paths with people that they would probably not have met in their entire lives. Instead of appreciating the opportunity to unlearn and learn, they instead decide to blossom in their ignorance.

@chairtoyota @alenyo_marshall The fact that there are many NRM MPs expressing interest in the post of deputy speaker even after the alleged endorsement of Tayebwa is a demonstration of lack of confidence in Tayebwa. The deputy speakership endorsement should perhaps be revisited.

Lydia Wanyoto Mutende has dropped her bid for Speaker and is now contesting for Deputy Speaker of Parliament. She says her strong mobilization record in the National Resistance Movement and her experience as an advocate of the High Court of Uganda make her well suited for the role. #NTVNews 📹@abubakerlubowa

Discipline takes you far man. That's why those individuals who were self disciplined in primary school, high school and campus are progressing well in life. Discipline compounds. The rewards are fulfilling.

Dear Gen @mkainerugaba these are the people brutally beaten to the pulp allegedly on orders of @honmulimbajohn, together with the vehicles he used to ferry goons during the primaries. He relied on excessive force and thuggery to grab the party flag. The real challenge now is to ensure he does not repeat the same violence and intimidation on Ugandans anymore more notably the people of Busia. @cdfupdf @CID1_UG @Tom_Magambo @igp_ug1 @PoliceUg @UgandaMFA @AigpDamulira @NRMOnline @Onc_nrm1 @DaudiKabanda @MichealMawanda1

The Speakership ticket is not up for debate. As Mzee’s wisdom has consistently shown us, the Movement doesn’t present options, it presents direction. Those who walk with us know the way forward. For those who won’t, the Movement has its own memory! 🇺🇬 CC: 12th Parliament MPs.

Also shocking is how many people were recruited by Anita Among at parliament since she took over! The figure being thrown about is 500, one source tells me it is higher than that. Most of her allies - including judicial officers - had their sons, daughters, & spouses at parliament. Many hitherto hard-working staff of parliament from years before got demoralised when people less qualified, where irregularly recruited, & promoted over them. Even worse, some found themselves sent to areas they had zero expertise in. A lawyer was transferred from the legal department to library! In some cases, entire departments saw significant changes. Parliament is said to have had a simple sick bay before she took over. Then, friends sent their sons and daughters who are medical officers to recruit, so an entire department of health was created with several nurses. The same is true for the gym which was expanded exponentially. #UgandaParliamentExhibitionII

@Sambannz I find it morally reprehensible that we use public resources in this poor country to give leaders money for donations. It doesn't make sense at all. if one feels compelled to donate, they should dig in their personal pocket.

Primitive accumulation of primitive wealth, by primitive people, for primitive reasons. That's my summary of Uganda over the last 40 years and much of Africa. More houses, more cars, more women, more booze as life's end-goal. Not lofty philosophical or artistic goals.
