@daEdge1960 @EddyM982 @IngrahamAngle It’s no annexation. It’s deeper economic ties and a more robust free trade agreement. Whatever happens in the US from now on doesn’t change the fact that Canada has realized that it can never allow itself to be so integrated again with the US. It’s all very sad

More from Heineman on being lifted today by Schneider: "That at-bat was pretty trash. I popped up on a pitch I should have drove. I've been pretty crappy the past 10 games or so. He probably saw something he shouldn't have saw or that I did wrong. He made a decision." #BlueJays

@richarddeitsch What is there method for making these valuations? I would like to see the business case to justify these numbers. All the power to them if these values are right but how a league that produced 200 mill in total rev last year can have team values that high doesn’t add up

If they were opening up shares for people, I would legit throw $250,000 into the Toronto Tempo and check back in 5-7 years. Because I’d bet it will be worth close to 1M or more.

@MoeSquare @JeffVeillette If you think he has the bona fides then you might be right to expect growth and improvement. A perfect example is Alex Anthopolous who struck out badly in his first attempt to reshape the jays in ‘13 but learned, improved and became a top GM

@JeffVeillette I think the argument for Chayka is you're hoping his 2nd GM run is better cause of experience from being insanely young the 1st time (sort of similar to Dubas). It's not really convincing though

I get people are trying to put a positive spin on reports but it's wild how many things people are inventing to give credit to Chayka for right now ARI had one of the weakest offensive d-corps in the league and even towards the end of his tenure they weren't a good in transition

@rin1786768 @KellenDB @Sportsnet In this situation with the puck lying flat the only optical illusion from the net cam would be that the puck may look like it’s touching the line when it’s passed because the top of the puck is higher than the ice. Again it only reinforces a goal

@gen_x4ever @KellenDB @Sportsnet If the camera is further away from the crease, along the ice=>x-axis- the puck will appear less in the net than it really is. The opposite happens if the camera gets closer to the crease, wrt the ice.

Did some AI puck-tracking on that controversial Oilers/Ducks call. As an Oilers fan it pains me to say it, but the math doesn't lie — it's a goal. By 3 pixels. @Sportsnet

1. 100% foul 2. Definitely foul enough to where it’s a horrible call. 3. Approaches become drastically different with an out here so you can’t possibly determine that outcome.
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell

1. Probably foul. 2. Not as definitively foul as everyone seems to think. If any part of the ball is hanging over fair territory, it’s fair. 3. If you play the inning out, with Miller getting an out here, he still allows a run. So, in theory, this call didn’t quash the streak.

@JeremyBranham @pablofdza The parallax effect makes you perceive the object is further from the camera. The issues in the past involved cameras pointing towards the net. In this case the camera was behind the net and any parallax effect would mean the puck travelled further in the net than perceived

@pablofdza Yep, that's what I'm saying. The replay is from a bad angle, so the parallax effect disputes it's pertinence.

@JeremyBranham @ScootsyQ My god you can’t be this gullible. The camera is behind the puck not in front of it. The parallax effect makes you perceive the object is further away from the camera. Therefore any parallax effect would mean the puck actually travelled closer to the camera and more in the net

@iioxzy @CoreyClayton @DixonSeider557 @reporterchris Yes there is a minor effect but it causes you to perceive the puck is further away from the camera. Therefore any effect would mean the puck actually travelled further into the net than perceived by the eye

@CoreyClayton @DixonSeider557 @reporterchris No there’s a slight angle on the camera just by a couple degree and although it’s not a ball the red paint is inches below the ice which mean the puck doesn’t actually sit on the red so viewing it at a slight angle will also cause a parallax effect.

@FreedomEagleAB @V_kalia95 @SportsnetSpec 100% correct. People are comparing this to camera angles in front of the net. The parallax angle effect makes objects seem further away from the camera side. In this case if it seems in by the eye the parallax effect only brings it more into the net

@V_kalia95 @SportsnetSpec Oooh science. Except with the puck, not the red line as the foreground object in this case, the parallax angle is minimizing just how far the puck is over the line. Good goal. Cry more.

Folks, the puck was over the line. If this happened for your team, and they said “no goal” you’d be apoplectic.

There is only one conclusive angle in these 4 pictures. It was the one that was called a goal The parallax effect is real and causes problems for sport officials on a daily basis. No different here

Leafs ‘23 - No Goal Flames ‘04 - No Goal Oilers ‘17 - No Goal Ducks ‘26 - Goal Funny how the 3 Canadian team goals were called back/waived off yet the American team’s goal is deemed a good goal … (I think they got the call right tonight) Makes ya wonder …

@rin1786768 @KellenDB @Sportsnet The parallax angle effect only serves to make the puck closer to the camera than what is perceived by the eye. In this case any optical illusions from a puck on its edge would actually make the puck further in the net than perceived

@KellenDB @Sportsnet I disagree, in order for this to be accurate at these levels we need the exact angle of the camera to 3 decimals. The lack of precision of the parallax is the reason 12th century man could not detect the angle the earth moved 6 months later with the angle of the stars.

@Expos_2020 @BizNasty2point0 @spittinchiclets You can leave your feet in the follow through. It’s almost impossible in an open ice hit to keep your blades on the ice throughout the contact. What you can’t do is launch yourself like a missle to make a hit

🚨 TRUMP CALLS OUT THE $159 BILLION SCREW-UP President Trump just unloaded on a ridiculous Supreme Court decision on tariffs: “People and Companies that have taken advantage of our Country for decades… are now supposed to be given back 159 Billion Dollars. All they had to do was one little half sentence… and our Country would be 159 Billion Dollars richer. That’s more than most Countries are worth!” Trump is right, this is insane!

This all falls upon Supreme Court Justices who have chosen to be activists advancing their own agenda on the bench. We need to start naming names and investigating our Supreme Court justices. They are compromised. They are committing criminal acts against We the People of the United States of America. Damnit Do Something! 😡🇺🇲
