I think there’s a lot that plays into that. Judo is much much more traditional. You have to learn the history of judo, learn all the technique names in Japanese etc as part of the belt promotions. The culture is still very reserved and Japanese Whereas bjj became much more American with bravo and 10th planet and ufc, Rogan, etc. you’d never see a Gordon Ryan type in Judo I like bjj when the guys are the like chill stoner bjj guys but not when it’s a juiced up wrestler trying to twist my knee off

Watched whole clip. The reporter was actually setting up a good question that was initially perceived as an attack on the cast. But he is actually saying it should be eligible to compete artistically for awards in Hollywood. He compared the films “diversity” to that of the Korean film “parasite” which was aloud to compete for awards yet the Nordic film was not. The reporter is actually asking a based question if you watch the whole thing.
