Today was my last day @Shopify - it was lovely working with everyone and I’m excited to start @PlanetScale next week ☺️

@KatieKeithBarn2 What do you mean. I love this chart. If it started from zero the chart wouldn’t have much information just a small line
English

#ShopifyDiary 368: This chart from our Shopify Partners dashboard is a bit mean - it starts at 988 instead of 0, so it looks like our installs have crashed when really they're only down 3% 😅

@carlrivera @Shopify Congratulations Carl! Excited to hear what you are gonna do next

I'm moving on from @Shopify.
When I joined 7.5 years ago, friends were literally taking bets on whether I'd last a year. The idea of me thriving inside a large company (and Shopify was a lot smaller back then!) felt unlikely. Most people assumed I'd be itching to start my next thing.
Instead, Shopify became my company.
I wasn't a founder, but @tobi always made me feel like one. It wasn't a startup, but Shopify moves like one. And the mission isn't just words — it shows up in the decisions, every day.
I got to wear a lot of hats. Introducing Shop to the world. Going deep on the rails of how money moves on the internet. Reimagining Shopify for the age of AI through design.
Leaving is hard. Shopify changed my life in more ways than I can recount. It taught me how to build for the long term, gave me a bar for craft and ambition I'll carry into everything that comes next, and showed me what it looks like when a company lives its mission.
In my next chapter, I'm getting the opportunity to bring together all the things I've obsessed over the past decade — consumer mobile, finance and money movement, design, AI — into a single role. More on that soon.

Its because not many users open the app. The more users you have the less the line moves around. Just 1 guy with bad internet or by being far away from your servers can skew your chart because the number of loads are low and this one person opening the app a couple of times is enough to change the chart

@robertosenabre @heymantle Give superrelay.ai a try. We built it to solve our problem then decided to open up for the community
English

We like @heymantle, and we have a good level of trust in the team. They do an amazing job
So, for our next app, Orbe Translate, we will start handling support in the new Mantle Help desk. To test it and evaluate a potential migration from Crisp
I really love Mantle, but, being honest, the only point that creates a bit of doubt for us is that they are pushing too many products at once, and I don’t see any of them as fully finished… It feels like everything is always in beta.
I'll share here our exp in case it can be helpful for any Shopify app dev running multiple apps
English

@alexanderhupfer Same here. But if you are in a category with other apps are not bfs you do have an advantage

Still have to tweak algo a bit to search for similarities but it catches Farid's example :)
Copycats now daily scans listings and finds copycats, if they use identical copy, or similar enough to be considered exact. Older copy counts as original, newer listings counted as copycats.
Embeddings updated on each app listing update.

Rules are now live in Angle 🥳
Every store has unwritten rules.
"Push the Gameon line for gaming monitors." "Lead with A37, A57, S26 Ultra for Samsung."
They used to live in the head of the best salesperson on the floor.
Now they live in your AI.
You're not configuring a chatbot anymore. You're training a salesperson.

@ssezerium If you wanna automate a lot of support give superrelay a try. Ai creates Tickets instead of live chat support all the time

LIFE UPDATE! I’m leaving Shopify to start something new (DMs Open) ! 😮
Here's why I'm choosing to leave one of the best product jobs in the world👇 👇
1) I have a 9 month old, and I need him to know that when the greatest opportunity in my lifetime came that his dad took a shot and went full "fuck it, we ball mode".
2) AI is changing what users want from their software. Nearly every category of software is WIDE open to be disrupted by the AI native version. Today’s software is a prompt for the next software.
3) Writing code isn't the bottleneck anymore. It's finding the right problem, defining the right solution, and knowing how to talk about it. These are my super powers.
4) Sharing your products' story, GOING DIRECT (s/o @lulumeservey) and engaging openly with your users is more important than ever. With AI you can instantly act on feedback and ship what users ask for in near REAL TIME.
5) Onboarding people and organizations to actually use AI effectively, and in a token-efficient way is THE opportunity right now.
As for *what* I'm building exactly PLEASE STAY TUNED. IF any of what I shared resonates with you or you'd love to build together my DMs are OPEN.
Thank you Shopify 💚
It has been a true honor and privilege to lead customer accounts & sign-in at Shopify the last ~5 years because of the incredible community of merchants, partners, and Shopifolk I’ve been able to build with. I will remain a fan and shareholder of Shopify.
- To @nicklenko, my partner in crime 🥹 🥹 Working with you has been one of the greatest joys in my career!
- To the Shopify ecosystem partners. MY HOMIES. I love working with you so much! I am going to miss you at editions dev 😭😭
- To @tobi, @harleyf, @mcfazeli, @michaelelmgreen, @glencoates - I truly had courtside seats to learn from the best
- To the entire customer accounts & sign-in team (SELF-SERVE 4 EVER!)
If you need support going forward for customer accounts, continue to lean on @nicklenko, @liam_at_shopify , and @ShopifyDevs

@geongeorgek cool! as far as i use there is no official api? are you using browser automation or raw requests with cookies?
English

@GoranCulibrk @ShopifyDevs Yeah I agree is this inside Rankzy? Would like to take a look.
My implementation here: x.com/geongeorgek/st…
Geon George@geongeorgek
Built a cli to manage Shopify app store ads so you can give it to claude. Anybody wants this?
English

@geongeorgek To avoid messing with that I opted to implement CSV exports. It’s manual task but I have a weekly cadence to check it, until @ShopifyDevs allow API access
