@n00dles71 Clearly level with the front of the bus before the van has fully committed, obstruction on both sides but white line position makes it clear cyclists lane has priority. Can't see any debate here

Ah yes, that famously crystal clear bit of the Highway Code that definitely says cyclists must magically disappear so drivers can overtake buses without the mild inconvenience of waiting. Really keeps the roads safe for the hard working drivers.

@IsSaddleThereIs If only car sharing services like Zip had been better supported eh? I would think the cost of parking more than compensates the residents given the money goes in to the general coffers and pays for other things

Cycleway, my arse! @issaddlethereis.bsky.social
That people think nothing of prioritising public space for empty and unused cars, which are parked 96% of the time (on average), over alternative uses, such as protected cycle tracks for all to use, is the biggest swindle ever carried out by the motor lobby.

@MikeyCycling You're speaking about bad road users. Seen enough conflict between cars, cyclists and pedestrians. Recent near miss with motorist who took objection to me not wanting to be reversed in to. Remember, cyclists can be bad road users too, had my fair share of pavement near misses too

@Boris417197813 @DrMarianaClaire @NotFarLeftAtAll It's a tax in the same way VED is a tax, and it must be paid to use the roads, but the revenue goes to central government as general taxation, therefore it's not a road tax, it's a tax on the vehicle, incorrectly referred to as road tax because the language has moved on. It's VED

Myles Lewis-Skelly was making his England debut this time last year. Fast forward 12 months to last Sunday - and he is watching on as another English left-back steals the show. MLS has played 400 minutes for Arsenal since 1st January. Piece here: thesun.co.uk/sport/38613120…

A Manchester City performance so good that Pep Guardiola could scarcely believe it. In a word: fearless. Why? Because they realised how few weapons Arsenal had to scare them with. cbssports.com/soccer/news/ma…

@jamesbenge Calafiori needed to be on for 2nd half and Martinelli when it was clear things had broken down, long before the goal, while there was still enough space for him to run into

FT Arsenal 0, Manchester City 2 - A deserved win for Pep Guardiola's side. They read the game and reacted to it. Ultimately if you don't have the attacking threat to keep the other team honest, you're really inviting the other team to figure you out like City did.

@charles_watts Was Arteta watching the 2nd half? It was obvious Martinelli and Calafiori needed to come on way sooner

Well, that was awful. City so comfortable in that second half. Couldn’t lay a glove on them. Lots of focus on Kepa and I don’t understand not playing your best keeper in a final, but even so, that was not the only reason the result went the way it did. What is with League Cup finals?? Just horrible, horrible experiences since 93.

@let_part @CitizenUddin @metpoliceuk Almost laughable. They can make all the laws they want, if nobody's enforcing them it's meaningless. When I started driving, if you took liberties you were probably getting pinched, slim chance now unless caught on a camera

Mattock Lane W13 Illegally spaced letters are one thing, but a greyed out VRM is another matter entirely. It's amazing that the public cannot report this to @metpoliceuk. If a number plate is greyed out, surely that's a criminal matter?

@DrMarianaClaire As any expert/professional will say, this is where people start. All a fine will do is teach him to not get caught so easily. Needs a proper rehabilitation order

If petrol is so expensive, why do so many drivers leave their engines running while parked?

@BobFromAccounts I mostly drive for pleasure, living in London, most of my journeys are courtesy of TfL, but I can see not everyone has access to good transport, & there are reasons to leave an engine running, though it can be foreseeable & therefore easy to anticipate/avoid a lot of the time

@DevonSameday @BobFromAccounts I can't see a problem with this response, and from a safety aspect, those with allergies like hay-fever, will absolutely need their air con in the summer. I would suggest however, if someone is having problems with motoring costs, downsizing might not be a bad idea.

@BobFromAccounts Always done it, heater in winter air con in summer .From a safety point of view it prevents the windows from steaming up .This is a serious hazard. Its the cost of motoring . If you have to turn the engine off to save money then you probably dont have the funds to run a car
