@gleasonben I’ve seen plenty of glyphosate sprayed around coffee crops - I’m not reading this on the internet - I talk to coffee farmers. And overall glyphosate is but one chemical I don’t want exposed to my coffee.

@BlackCoffeeMsla Conventional farms aren’t spraying glyphosate. That would kill the crop. Why did you mention glyphosate?

@gleasonben It can - and for certification there are strict limits. Is it perfect? No. Is it better? IMO, compared to the heavy spraying I’ve seen on conventional coffee farms, yes. Most of the coffee we source comes from small farms we visit, and most rarely if ever use it.

@BlackCoffeeMsla It’s safe because it washes off into the environment? I searched for copper sulfide and Bing said it can lead to serious health and environmental issues.

@gleasonben Copper sulfide is considered safe as it washes off, but most organically grown coffee comes from higher altitude shade farms and in that ecosystem requires less protection or need for external nutrients
