JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and other banks are drowning from the hundreds of billions in data center debt they have taken down for AI builds from Oracle and CoreWeave. Now it's time to move the risk. The size of the risk: out of scale to anything we've ever thought about.

J’ai jamais vu un marché autant schizophrène… On a des annonces de CapEx records, mais ceux qui en profitent ne montent même pas… Pareil, la croissance est phénoménale mais Meta et Microsoft se font dézinguer. Incompréhensible

My hypothesis is that users have to perform multiple searches to get quality results. Revenue goes up in the short term but user experience worsens. Anecdotally speaking, Google search is so bad that I have to use ChatGPT even though I prefer to support businesses that rely on Google’s web index.
Boring_Business@BoringBiz_

How is Google search still growing 19% year over year with nearly monopoly like market share in the category? Legitimately might be the greatest business ever created in the history of capitalism

Everyone’s panicking, surprised we haven’t had an overly eager tweet from Oracle
Ed Ludlow@EdLudlow

Coreweave out with a statement on OAI. We sent headlines to @TheTerminal earlier "OpenAI is a terrific partner, but not our only one. Our business is supported by a diverse and expanding set of customers like Meta Platforms, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google, IBM, Perplexity AI, Jane Street, and many others. As more companies build and deploy AI, demand for compute continues to grow. We continue to see demand exceed supply across the AI ecosystem, particularly as inference scales." - CoreWeave Spokesperson

I totally relate. Years ago, I used to work with data warehouse and we were on redshift which I think was even worse (and before that Oracle, quelle horror). Idk how much AI helps given how messy data can be. The only way out might be to move company or lead a company wide migration I fear.

@gonewiththegale I'd love to, and I wish we started on Databricks, but migrating is a lot of work and not a good use of my time. I've migrated some chunks of the pipeline to Clickhouse, but I can't really expend time on a full migration.

I tend to not post about this because the audience is niche and nobody really cares but I've held an unreasonable seething rage toward Snowflake (data warehouse tool). Awful company. The engineers are probably fine but the management culture seems bad and stymying of the product.

If 100 people block @pmarca on X, AI gets nicer. If 100 people block Yudkowsky @ESYudkowsky, AI gets safer. I promise that this works. ❤️ I have the largest head, and I hold the God Emperor card. @nntaleb

@RealJimChanos Probably not going to be a good day for the space. Although this reads very openAI specific. Losing market share, slowing growth while long compute they’d need to grow into to justify
