The economy is so bad that you have people literally saying they've made more money gambling than actually working.

BREAKING: Hundreds of workers at a key supplier of Navy ships are on strike. 650 designers, clerks, and engineers walked out of Bath Iron Works, rejecting a contract from General Dynamics. The workers say the offer doesn't sufficiently address wages, insurance, or retirement.

@EricRichards22 You say that but how do we get pipe fitters to be more productive to justify the $40 an hour labor rate? Any thoughts there except yelling at the problem?

@david_ace1 @BirdNewEngland @Alpaca_Capital Hydraulic punch press straight through your hand, seems. All yours for a good wage of $45-50k/yr. You get paid more working from home typing in a spreadsheet for 8hrs.

@BirdNewEngland @Alpaca_Capital No way I’d work with sheet metal for $22 an hour. Have you ever worked with it before? My dad worked in a sheet metal factory and decided to quit before he lost a finger. The stuff is so thin that if it slides and nicks your arm you don’t notice until you see blood.

1.) America sent 90,000 factories overseas that never came back 2.) The dollar lost 90-99% of its value since 1965 3.) America imported 150 million foreigners since 1965

I keep repeating this: Trump is doing a great job, but he is trying to fix problems that have built up for 20-50 years. The economy never recovered from the 2008 subprime housing crisis, 18 years later Boomers are still suffocating the young. This is why people are frustrated.

@Foxfaxx Imagine paying to go to a trade school, getting out and making literally $16.50-20/hr in most areas. Then spending the next several years on a union waitlist, to get a "survivable" wage. > NPC: "Nobody wants to work in the trades anymore!!!"

@HazelSoSlay Yeah, I haven't had the urge to play since they announced the weekend gated modes/maps. Love the game, but it's going to be impossible trying to keep up with people who can play Cryo all weekend.

kinda realizing that the true endgame of marathon might not be achievable for me given the time i don't have anymore to really pour into the game with full time school and a weekend job to hold. i am glad it exists but it does sting a little knowing it's just not for me

Yes, a cashier at McDonalds SHOULD be able to afford rent, groceries, & bills on just that 1 paycheque alone. THAT'S WHAT JOBS ARE FOR.

they want you to think ai is taking your job so you don’t realize the economy is dead lmao layoffs aren’t happening because of ai. that’s the convenient narrative nobody wants to challenge. the real reason is we’re in a massive recession caused by covid inflation that literally gutted every consumer. we had it good for like 2 years until we started to see the aftermath of Trump doubling the money supply… but nobody wants to say we are in one out loud lmao blaming ai sounds futuristic and inevitable so no one questions it. way easier than admitting the money printer broke everything and everything is a disaster lmao when they give you something shiny to blame they’re hiding something ugly behind it

It’s insane to think about the fact that banks made $89 billion in overdraft fees past year. That’s $89 billion they took from people who literally have no money.

@DChase007 For some reason McDonald’s burgers at least started tasting terrible around 2018-2019. I have no clue what changed but it’s not as good as it once was. That and as you said the price.

@SperrysandNikes Well then captain obvious you’re a little late on finding out about McDonald’s. It’s the most toxic food on earth. It used to be just cheap. Now it’s like $15 a meal to serve you poison.

I will not be eating McDonald’s again. If the CEO, the highest-ranking employee privy to all the secrets, can’t stomach it, then you know there are some questionable ingredients in there

@casuburbanmam @MatrixMysteries There should also be a cap on how long you can utilize Section 8. So many people who recently got laidoff can't get any assistance because you have people that have lived in public housing for the past 10+ years, with zero intentions of leaving.

@MatrixMysteries These houses should be reserved for people who are gainfully employed and can’t afford market rate homes. Not section 8 leeches. They should build basic high rise apt buildings for those people.

This is modern America. Brand-new suburban homes. Four bedrooms. Fresh construction. "Section 8 approved." Taxpayers working 40 hours a WEEK live in apartments… so government-subsidized tenants can move into new HOUSES.
