@British_Airways It’s an awful experience. Inadequate seating as a starting point. Silver member and & Club travellers should be compensated for this - it’s not in any way comparable to other business lounges around the world.
English

@goody2shoooos Hi Claire. I'm sorry you're not happy with the Marhaba Lounge. That is the only lounge we have access to at Terminal 1. PhilGW
English

.@British_Airways bumping your loyal
Silver members and club travellers into the awful Marhaba lounge at Dubai is disgraceful. Dreadful experience and unnecessary.

The Right Rev. Mariann Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington is now my absolute hero.
I am an atheist, often because religion does more harm than good, but her sermon was one of the bravest things I have seen.
She could have capitulated - like the press, like other politicians, and just gone with the flow. But she didn't, she said what needed to be said, to their faces, in public.

@BookLady50 @iDrSunny @booklady50 I assume you mean “clinical” qualifications, not medical qualifications? Other HCPs are able to assess, diagnose and treat patients autonomously without a doctor ever seeing them.

@SimonAHPInfo @drokane @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Yes- we have b5 senior assistants, which is also a role that @thecsp have been supporting and promoting for the last year. They are highly skilled and experienced staff.
English

@goody2shoooos @drokane @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Hi Claire, please could you clarify in what settings assistants are paid more than qualified physios? I’m struggling to think of an example, aside from an assistant at the top of Band 4 vs a newly qualified Band 5, where the difference is <£1k (but still in favour of the band 5).
English

How can this be justified @gloshospitals?
PAs are being paid more than doctors to supervise and teach doctors while eventually leading ward rounds.
This job offer MUST be withdrawn.
Doctors, see how your roles are undervalued. You are slowly being replaced.
STRIKE

English

@DocAnonX @craniorectal @CheekyClackers @Dr_Done_ Your response is to belittle other professionals’ roles rather than support the skills and knowledge they bring to the patient pathway? Or even understand the scope of their profession? I’m guessing you haven’t worked with a physio in a crit care outreach role then?
English

@OrthopaedicOz @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Admission to a hospital and being professionally and clinically accountable are two completely separate things.
English

@goody2shoooos @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals In a hospital, patients are not admitted under anyone other than a doctor.
Never seen a patient being admitted under any other professional group
English

@OrthopaedicOz @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Incorrect. Autonomous practitioners whom are qualified and registered are 100% accountable for their professional decisions, their actions, and answer complaints/litigation as such.
English

@goody2shoooos @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals But the dr is the one whose name is above the bed and will deal with the complaints/litigation if things go wrong.
ACCOUNTABILITY
MDT can advise, but ultimately final decisions rest on the drs.
English

@Field_Hedgerow @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals that has clearly hit a nerve with all the people choosing to “take the piss”. Self reflection and consideration of how we all can deliver excellence is an option open to all apparently. Maybe some doctors should try inviting another professional on their WR next time?
English

@Field_Hedgerow @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Why are doctors so venomously against other professionals infiltrating their space, rather than embracing different innovations? I’ve not actually stated that I think PAs are a good or bad thing, rather I have questioned a rather archaic medical model of healthcare 2/
English

@Field_Hedgerow @WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Thank you for your advice. At no point did I ever suggest that a senior doctor wouldn’t be the most appropriate person to make the medical decisions. My point is that leading the walk around doesn’t have to be that person. 1/
English

@WorthWords @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals We clearly have a different understanding of what leading a WR means. A WR should be about collaborative patient focused decision making with the patient’s voice, wherever able, as part of the MDT. A doctor isn’t the only person who can lead that discussion or facilitate a plan.
English

@goody2shoooos @craniorectal @BMASevernJDC @gloshospitals Leading doesn't mean planning the route it means you are the most senior decision maker clinically. HCA who know patients well and can advocate well for them yes contribute but lead. oh my
