I don't care if this is considered controversial, here's the truth:
Black people don't fight like white people.
There are way too many videos of people having their heads stomped on, or being stabbed, or getting shot after an initial punch is thrown.
Anyone saying Chud the Builder shouldn't have escalated to using a gun to defend himself is being naive.
It's not like this was some barfight over a football game, where you could assume a gentleman's agreement over no use of deadly force.
Chud is known for calling black people the N-word, and the guy who punched him knew who he was.
I absolutely don't condone hurling slurs at random people, but I also know it doesn't justify violence.
If reports are true that the black guy did start the physical altercation, Chud is absolutely justified in using potentially deadly force to defend himself.

Prison is a weird progressive innovation that replaced capital and corporal punishment with a ridiculous and expensive system of “time out” because women and weak men felt bad about bad men being hanged or flogged

More than every "authoritarian" state it condemns in its annual human rights reports. 1.8 million people. Disproportionately Black. Disproportionately poor. Disproportionately from the zip codes with the worst schools, the fewest jobs, the most abandoned infrastructure. This is presented as a "criminal justice system." It functions as a labor system. Prison labor, paid between 13 cents and $1.15 an hour in most states, produces goods for McDonald's, Walmart, Victoria's Secret, Whole Foods, and the United States military. The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, contains an exception clause: "Except as punishment for crime." That exception has never been closed. It has been expanded. The plantation did not disappear. It received a different name and a legal foundation.

Let’s clear up a few things about this map.
Mondale won MN because of a massive native son electoral effect, which 40 years ago was much stronger, as was a lot of things. Even then he barely won. Legend has it Reagan pulled resources out of Minny so as to not embarrass. Very Midwestern nice of him (yes, Reagan was a midwesterner, most of our best presidents were raised in heartland Midwest and/or small town environments).
MN voted 16 points to left of the nation in 1984.
4 decades later MN voted about 5 points to the left of the nation. It has been sitting at anywhere between 1 point to the right (2016) and 4/5 points to the left for about two and a half decades now.
The idea that Republicans cannot eventually win here with the right candidate and circumstances is loser talk.

She is probably like most conservative people, pleasant, polite, well-intentioned, hard working, kind, etc.
They really believe that the Constitution will restrain the power of those who hate America, its written constitution, and its people.
It is well past time to cease believing this. They do not care about our “norms,” our traditions, or our laws. They care only about attaining power and wielding it over us. To them the Constitution only places limits upon any who would oppose them.
It is a game of Monopoly where they make sure you dutifully follow the rules, collecting $200 only when you pass “go,” while they raid the bank every time you turn your head.
