🚨 JUST IN: Florida Southern College has just created an ROTC SCHOLARSHIP in honor of fallen Captain Cody Khork, who was lost to Operation Epic Fury Well-deserved 🙏🏻 SHERIFF GRADY JUDD: "Normally, the pictures I hold up are of bad guys. This is a hero. This man went off to war at the direction of his country." "This is Captain Cody Khork. He's 35. He's from Winter Haven." "He was in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was called up. He died in the early days as a result of an attack." "His family has asked that we escort him past Florida Southern College, where he went to college." "This man is a hero, and he died in order that we can live in a free and democratic society, and he did what was asked of him of his country." "Once he is escorted to the funeral home, which is in Winter Haven, he will remain there until he has services this weekend, and then on Monday we will escort him to Bushnell, which is his final resting place." "From the time he arrives in Polk County on that airplane until the time we take him to Bushnell, Captain Cody will not be by himself." "Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, there will be a deputy standing guard because it's the right thing to do. We're proud of him." "We're proud of all our military personnel that are standing in the gap and doing what this country has asked of them." 🇺🇸

How incompetent is the French military? A sailor on Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier just revealed its location by using a fitness tracker (Strava) while jogging on the ship's deck 🤣 Source: Le Monde

If you've had a kidney stone, you've been advised that the most important thing to prevent another bout is to increase hydration. Now a randomized trial of hydration in over 1600 participants showed no benefit, despite evidence of increase during volume. thelancet.com/journals/lance…

@PaulMcG1992 The only US GP at Indy that used the full front stretch, and IIRC the next year the tire wars resulted in a PR catastrophe and that was that.

> Be Keanu Reeves > 61 years old > Looks the same at 61 as 30 > Born in Lebanon > Speed movie made him famous > Had a thing for Sandra Bullock but didn't hit on her > Wears basic clothes > Lived out of hotels for many years > Sometimes eats lunch with homeless people > Okay being by himself & watching a movie alone > Interacts with normal people unlike typical celebs > Gifts motorcycles to his Matrix stunt crew > Starts a foundation without his name on it > Starts a motorcycle company because he loves them > Now makes trippy movies like "Outcome" > Plays in a band called Dogstar > Taking a break from movies to tour with his band in 2026 And Keanu is still the kindest dude in Hollywood who is loved by all. Keanu is badass.

@EODHappyCaptain It's a variation on a great joke, but you left out the third letter: Write three letters.

I left the guy who took over for me 2 notes. I told him when something bad happened, to open the first letter. When something bad happened again, open the second. The first read: blame me. You’re new. I’ll take the heat. The next letter read: you only get one freebie. This is on you. Good luck.
MEDPROS Center of Excellence@Asst_to_the_RM

One thing I learned early in leadership was that you don’t get to blame things on your predecessor. You get 30 days to assess, plan & improve all the things. After that, bringing up the previous guy just makes you look incompetent. Own the issues, they’re your fault now

Your restaurant has multiple contracts with dining card providers, and while the shrimp cocktail for one contract is $3.75 for another it's $20 and that goes for everything else on the menu and also the hospital has no idea which of the 15 cards you actually have. Now ask for a menu.

Would you eat at a restaurant that gives you a menu without any prices on it, and then when you ask for a menu that does have prices on it, they hand you one with ridiculously inflated price labels next to each item, but reassure you that you won't actually pay those list prices--you'll pay a different, lower price based on what membership card you have. And when you ask what that lower price is, they can't reliably tell you, but promise to send you a bill in the mail a month later telling you what you actually owe. Welcome to the American healthcare system, which is the way it is not because businesses set out to do business this way, but because this is where they've found themselves after reacting to each previous policy and intervention (e.g., tax exclusion for employer-sponsored health insurance, institutionalized third-party payment, gov't reimbursement formulae, cross-subsidization of public programs, etc.)
