Whether the question aims to me — yes, I’m currently preparing a book about this topic. It’s a synthesis of ideas from complex systems, consciousness studies and human psychology — explored through rhythm and tension. There are only a few works that truly touch this intersection, but if you’re curious, I’d suggest: • Ilya Prigogine – Order Out of Chaos (on dissipative systems and self-organization) • Francisco Varela – The Embodied Mind (on autopoiesis and embodied cognition) • Alva Noë – Action in Perception (on perception as active process) • Alexander Lowen – The Language of the Body (on tension and energy in human form) • Brian Massumi – Parables for the Virtual (on affect, movement, rhythm) My own approach — Rhythmic Phenomenology — views rhythm as the universal stabilizer of tension, from galaxies to neural loops to markets. It’s not about chaos or order, but about how patterns hold energy long enough to become real.

Markets are a random walk On a cycle graph Because humans are deeply cyclical creatures We vacation in summer, hunker down in winter drink coffee in the morning And heavy meals at night To Assume this has no impact on markets is to be a fool The cycle ends Nov/Dec

Tension in any field always searches for a structure — a form through which it can become real. The market is that structure, a crystallization of collective tension. What holds any form — from galaxies to neural loops to prices — is rhythm. The market is the moment when collective tension clicks into pattern. That’s what I explore in my rhythmic phenomenology. And i am happy to see some resonance here. Thanks.

@samhenrigold Awesome, how did you generate the video loop? Is this just a luma pass of the original apple video?

The video texture [1] provides base temperature, so even when your mouse is stationary, there’s still movement. Bright pixels = hot zones, dark pixels = cold zones. And the alpha mask texture [2] clamps heat within the logo. The mouse texture adds interactive heat on top.

I reverse engineered Apple's thermal logo effect. It’s a Three.js shader that combines 4 inputs: - A video texture heat map - A mouse-driven heat map - An Apple logo mask - A thermal-style color palette Explanation below

@gsmetzer I used GPT-5 to parse out the minified JS and start to do the heart transplant (the actual script file had the entire Three library baked in, I had to split it out) And for the main part/refactors I used Sonnet 4

@samhenrigold Awesome, excellent execution and so fast to turn-around! I had a look through your GitHub. What LLM are you using to write the code?

Heat accumulation works like this: - Mouse movement adds heat to pixels under the cursor - Each frame multiplies all heat values by decay rate (0.95 = lose 5% per frame) - New heat gets added on top of existing heat - Values < 0.001 are clamped to 0

Robert DuBoise was wrongfully imprisoned for 37 years for a 1983 murder in Tampa, based on false testimony and flawed bite-mark evidence. Cleared by DNA in 2020, he later sued the city. In 2024, Tampa settled for $14 million.

@IterIntellectus Write a holographic foil shader for Unity3D URP. The shader will be used on a tiltable plane that changes the sheen, shimmer and rainbow effects. The goal is to look exactly like real world printed premium holographic foil effect.

So excited to share one of my white-whale projects: a fully physics-based, holographic foil shader. Each pixel simulates a ray of light diffracting into a rainbow of waves, which add and subtract to create these incredible patterns. Not a single gradient was used here!
