The cheapest single family home in my entire *city* is listed for $1.6M. It's a little 1940s home that needs foundation work. With an 7.5% mortgage it will cost $11,000 per month, after you spend $450,000 cash for a down payment and some basic renos. Totally normal.

Just realized something that honestly made me stop for a second… $2,000 rent a month. That’s $24,000 a year. Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000. Gone. No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it. Just paid to exist somewhere. That’s actually insane when you really think about it.

@RKLBMan @rushicrypto Sure, it depends on your situation. Can't afford a down payment, can't afford a home, don't want to commit longterm, etc, then rent. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to rent. Zero, none, zilch, no financial advisor would recommend. You are only paying equity to your landlord.
