@ColinBest1978 @BrandonDavisBD I think there is a spectrum of moviegoers that can be persuaded to see a movie with more of a window. A lot of times people just have things going on and by the time they get around to being able to go it just makes sense to wait because it will hit streaming in a week.

@happyfeethart @BrandonDavisBD I dispute that.Anyone who specifically likes the theatrical experience is going to go no matter what.Plenty of people simply choose not to/can't afford to go to cinemas at all.To be honest I'm selective as I just can't afford to go and see everything I'd like to.

@nib95_ Yeah as a PC gamer, i know damn well we spend a lot of money on mtx, just not old ass games like GTAV. But games like Gatcha games, Mobas, and other genres, we spend tons of it on.

Many PC fans took this data to celebrate PC gamers not being microtransaction "paypigs", but data shows PC gamers spend FAR more on mtx than console gamers, just on different games Newzoo reports in 2025 mtx accounted for 48% of PC's $43bn revenue, but 27% of $45.3bn on console. So mtx accounted for 78% more of total revenue on PC vs console, and PC gamers spent 67% more on microtransactions vs console gamers. In 2024 it was a worse split, with a whopping 58% of PC revenue being estimated from microtransactions. So PC gamers are actually by far the bigger microtransaction "paypigs", just not in GTA Online. Instead, other titles like World of Warcraft, League of Legends (which is reported to earn 2-3x what GTA Online does in mtx per year) and so on.

@ColinBest1978 @BrandonDavisBD The issue is of audiences have the expectation that a movie will hit digital in a month they are less likely to go the first three weeks.

@BrandonDavisBD This is the kind of airy talk that the "We are so back!" fraternity lap up.Reality is though that most films have made the vast majority of their theatrical money within 3-4 weeks of release.Cinemas aren't going to show films to empty theatres if there's newer releases lined up.

I accept that some content creators have changed their mind about exclusives. B/c of prevailing market conditions and competitive dynamics. OK. Here's what I don't accept. For 4 - 5 years, some of you large creators have been in a vehement and at times unnecessarily toxic full-on kerfuffle with us every 2 - 5 days over us being proponents of exclusives. We've lined out the business case, discussed brand identity, brand equity, and their driving force to ARPU and CLV. We've talked about why exclusives are valuable to us as gamers, separate from the business & the brand case. And some of you have taken shots, been messy, made it personal, and instead of engaging in objective discussion on the topic, have dove to "you're a fanboy", "you're in your feelings over exclusives", "you're only saying that b/c...PlayStation", "save the tweet". You've been unwilling to be questioned, or to have your opinion disagreed with b/c your opinion is authoritative "for reasons". Now, you literally use arguments we articulated and documented, copy / paste and machine gun them out as the new normal. W/o having the common courtesy to send a DM or a text or, heaven forbid, to say publicly "I came at you sideways and made it personal; my bad." So there's that.

After almost 6 years, I cancelled my GamePass membership once it hit $30/month. With so much entertainment competing for my time, I didn’t need another hefty sub service just sitting there milking my bank account. But if they revamp the tiers, I may reconsider.

@MrDachi87 @vicious696 And that’s pretty much BS. It didn’t get raised to $30 in 2024 when BO6 launched in Game Pass. The price was raised in 2025 for several reasons, including the fact that they forced Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew into Game Pass Ultimate.
