This is the DSA co-chair. Let me summarize what he says in this video: We’re using the Democratic Party as a ballot-access vehicle, not because we share its goals. We build our own organization, get elected under the Democratic label, caucus with Democrats when it’s useful, and push our own agenda from the inside. We see the Democratic establishment as an obstacle, not a home.

@fachopasta @JakeLandauTO Mamdani was quite clear that he was at times advised, even by members of the Muslim community, to hide his religion for political reasons. Being religious may be favored in US politics, but I think it's a bit silly to claim that being Muslim provides an advantage. Bigots and all.

@areyousurebruv i've always found the performative hatred for converts really strange. evidently there's some truth to the notion that converts tend to latch onto the wrong parts of the faith (vance, owens, etc) but the idea that someone who converted to a faith is fundamentally different-
