@ProfVemsani It’s time @ShekharGupta published a rebuttal to an apology of an article. This isn’t a right wing reaction but an overwhelming response to dispel the misinformation and half baked assertions made by this historical fiction writer.

Oldest put-down on Hinduism. This is so anti-Hindu and just colonialist line of thinking imposed on India: why do all Hindu Gods and Goddesses always become forest/folk deities in their mind? Same line of argument for all Indian Gods and Goddesses. Problem is those who don’t know Hinduism always want to write about Hinduism.

As usual, an article in The Print has appeared filled with factual errors, half-truths, and distortions about Ayyappa worship, with little evidence of any real understanding of its historical background. Here is a detailed rebuttal intended to set out the factual position clearly and correct the record. Please read and share. krishnants.substack.com/p/ayyappa-ayya…

@SandipGhose SIR was conducted by school teachers, visiting homes for survey. Quite a few are DMK sympathisers, atleast whom I spoke to in TN. Their only grouse was huge work burden within a short time, excercises done after several years so lots of catching up to do etc. No other.

So far, hearing the uproar about SIR I thought the maximum deletions have happened in #WestBengal. But from this chart it appears Tamil Nadu had higher deletions both in numbers and as percentage of voters. Why TN didn’t make as much noise? Is it because DMK is sure of winning?

For a guy who claims to be Harvard-educated & full of bombast about his 20-odd years in the US, it's quite lame to try & tell his constituents that he "tried" to fulfill his promises but couldn't. More ridiculous is that the finance genius apparently couldn't figure out that his own 2 aides had cheated people of over Rs 100 cr and that many officials in the Madurai Corporation looted people to the tune of at least Rs 200 cr. @ptrmadurai has found the perfect opponent in @SundarCOffl & is being asked questions he & his cousin have no answers for.

The BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari tells me scores of infiltrators contributed to Mamata Banerjee’s election victories. I ask: but the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision in West Bengal has thrown up no evidence of infiltrators? Full interview: youtube.com/watch?v=cLDqFq…

Yes @amittalwalkar : that is quite a record. To play 13 years of first class cricket and not lose a single match is pretty amazing and probably unprecedented anywhere in the world . BUT don’t forget, cricket is a team game and you are only as good as your team. My father was privileged to play in a Mumbai team that was a powerhouse in the 60s. From 1960 to 1973, he was never part of a losing team. The year after he retired, we lost to Karnataka to end the run of 15 consecutive Ranji wins. 🙏👍
Amit T@amittalwalkar

The Ultimate Charm: 61 Matches, 13 Seasons, Zero Defeats. Dilip Sardesai played 61 Ranji Trophy matches for Bombay and never lost a single game. He played in 10 finals for Bombay and won all 10. He played Ranji Trophy for around 13 years, and Bombay were champions in all 13 of those years. #Trivia @sardesairajdeep

POTENTIAL IMPACT OF S.I.R. ON TMC BASTION IN BENGAL Let's look at the Presidency Psephological region which has 108 Assembly Seats. It covers Howrah, Kolkata, Nadia, North and South Parganas. 1) Here TMC won 93 seats in 2021. The BJP won only 14. Others bagged 1. (See table) Interestingly, TMC share of seats in this region has hovered around the 93-95 seat mark consistently since 2011. Its vote share across 108 seats has never been below 48%. 2) If there was no S.I.R. then based on the 2021 data the BJP would have to ensure a vote swing of 7.5% or more to win at least 55 seats here. (SEE TABLE) While nothing is improbable it is a tall ask especially when BJP voteshare across all 108 Presidency region seats is about 34%. 3) But post S.I.R. the story changes quite dramatically. The most number of deletions in Presidency region have happened in Kolkata that includes 11/108 seats and Howrah and Nadia which include 16/108 and 17/108 seats respectively. In these three regions the number of voters deleted exceeds or is very close to the TMC victory margin. (SEE TABLE) 4. If post S.I.R. one were to assume all deleted voters are TMC supporters the BJP would pick up 50 seats an addition of 37 over its 2021 tally from Presidency region. But this is highly unlikely. (SEE TABLE). But if one were to assume that the S.I.R. has ousted 70% TMC voters and 30% BJP voters the BJP could bag 21 seats an addition of 7 over its 2021 tally in the Presidency region.

Cricket fans born in the 1980s and 1990s should watch a series called Bodyline, then the videos of the 1974-75 series between England and Australia, and finally. the Kingston Test in 1975-76 between India and West Indies to understand how protected present day cricketers are when they get onto the cricket field.

@hrajesh1 @Ram_Guha You haven't answered any of my questions ... Who is in charge of WB now? The ECI...It rejigged whole administration, so why trying to blame TMC for violence ... What has Mujib killer got to do with SIR? How many infiltrators identified in Bihar SIR? Answer that first, Sanghi!

@basu_smarajit @Ram_Guha It is the citizens responsibility to have the documents. Nobody in Bihar stopped EC or Judicial officials as in West Bengal, continuing violence is a shame for WB. Mujib’s killer lived comfortably for decades in Kolkata till he was caught & identified while visiting B’desh.

Stealing an election? The disenfranchisement of 92 lakh voters in West Bengal is not a technical exercise—it is a political act. First, millions of names were deleted from the electoral rolls. It was as if those affected were being told: Sorry, your name stands deleted. Now go try your luck with the Appellate Tribunals. Yes, you may not be able to vote this time. But your right to vote is not being taken away permanently. This is not just one legal battle, but a test case—whether Indian elections can be safeguarded from sliding down the Bangladesh or Pakistan route. 📍 Constitution Club, New Delhi #ElectoralIntegrity #Democracy

Shocking report! Of the two constituencies’ data from West Bengal that @AltNews analysed, 66% of the persons whose right to vote has been “suspended till final adjudication” are Muslims. Two days back, Justice Joymala Bagchi effectively remarked “that’s okay, they can still vote in the next election”! Is this how the apex Constitutional Court of world’s largest democracy going to treat targeted mass disenfranchisement?! altnews.in/bengal-sir-the…

@americai @MaliniP Congress party was a natural alternative to Dravidian parties but withered away due to internal strifes, lacklustre leadership and has now become a lackey of the DMK. Good people have no place in the party, it’s filled with questionable characters now.

“A political party is an instrument to serve the people. If that instrument does not evolve with time, it becomes necessary to change the instrument. In the age of missiles, standing in the field with a knife is nothing short of foolishness." Parting shot by @americai V Narayanan, veteran and respected Congressman in the Tamil Nadu unit @INCIndia, leaving the party he loyally served for three & a half decades. This follows the open outburst by @jothims, indicating an alienation sweeping the top echelons of the TNCC. The @BJP4TamilNadu has likewise been weakened by its internal jealousies resulting in a less than optimal contingent of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections . With both national parties clearly the worse for wear in this contest, it looks like the fight is mainly between @arivalayam, @AIADMKOfficial & @TVKVijayHQ .
