@MTashed @letsplayinc Yes the price and the length it takes to pay itself off is a big blocker. It sucks cause solar is amazing and should be on every house but it’s just too damn expensive still

@letsplayinc I think people just can't afford 20-40k extra in their house costs upfront. They are getting cheaper and pay off is pretty good now, but it is still very expensive without government grants and projects

I know I'm getting older because: we are getting solar panels.... And I am so excited to track how much energy they create and how long to pay them off lol And I found a new BBQ sauce locally and can't stop telling people. And we got some fruit plants and I love them And

If FSD pulls in my garage, but not far enough to shut the door, is that ... Discomfort - I'm uncomfortable shutting the garage. Preference - I prefer not to hit my car with the garage door. Navigation - It didn't quite make it to the pin. Critical - My wife will kill me if the garage door hits the car. I just leave a voice saying tell @Tesla_AI how rad it is that the car pulls in my garage and ask nicely to make it pull forward until it hits the stop block 😃.

As someone who loves survival games I don’t like Windrose. It just feels like every other survival game except worse. Yea the pirate aesthetic is done very well but besides that the game offers nothing all that special. The progression and exploration are a huge weakness

Been playing Windrose and it’s good but it’s really nothing all that special. It’s one of the first survival games where I actually felt burnt out in because it’s just so similar to other ones and the combat is just tedious

@TheTrueVanguard Ngl I do think there needs to be changes to make it more accessible. They could just speed up progression a bit and make cryo not require a bunch of different keys. Even for me who is someone who has played tarkov the game is surprisingly quite brutal

Marathon is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It's an incredibly good game, but the more casual audience seems to be avoiding it. But if they dumb the game down, it will be considerably worse and I'll likely stop playing it. It's basically a phenomenal game that doesn't appeal, I guess, to a wider audience. I'm not sure what exactly the solution is, maybe it's better strategic marketing and creative efforts to onboard new players. I'm not sure. But dumbing the game down would likely fix nothing. You might get new players to temporarily try it, but then they're playing a considerably less inspired game and will bounce off it. I also think the truly bizarre pre-launch hate campaign was SUPER weird. Like, gamers can be such strange people and I say that with peace and love. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a global predisposition to hate a game the way I saw it with Marathon. People were literally parroting the exact same sentences for months, almost like they had talking points and were collectively regurgitating them. Like the places where gamers hang out (YT, Reddit, Twitch, X, etc) had posts or something hating the game that circulated so much that people just latched onto them. I dunno. Either way, it didn't do the game any favors. I'm not sure what the best path forward is but good marketing and a positive outward image might help. And the vault wipes are definitely a good thing, that's totally necessary. But I think diluting the game to make it more palatable is the wrong play personally. Short term gain maybe, but over time will actually hurt retention I think.

@Sean7Faska He never claimed he was burnt out or that there wasn’t enough content. He simply stated he did everything he wanted to do and now he’s done with the game. He didn’t even say anything negative like you’re just projecting for no reason

This is what’s wrong with gamers now. The game came out two weeks ago. Bro is burnt out on it already. Games are meant to last and not be rushed through in two weeks.
Gladd@Gladd

After almost 250 hours, I’m finally ready to put down Crimson Desert. Beat MSQ, explored every “biome”, completed all sky puzzles, naturally found all but 2 bosses, no-hit all 3 Overwhelming Beings, maxed out gear, unlocked all camp dispatches, + more. Hell of a playthrough GGs

@MacticsG1 There’s been casualization in certain areas but I would say the barrier to entry for raids and dungeons was drastically increased during EoF. D1 had well balanced normal/hard raids. We should just go back to that

The casualization of destiny will always be one of its biggest banes. Forsaken era destiny had loads of content/gear to chase for casuals and sweats alike. One of the biggest mistakes they made was making the challenging content easy and making aspirational weapons handouts.
MJ-@LowmanLegend

Thinking about the DCV era of destiny is genuinely just hilarious in retrospect, they were seriously going insane at that studio. The year and a half period from and after was the peak “accessibility era” for them when they turned an already pretty easy game into baby’s first looter shooter. Removing things like hotswapping and two Icarus dashes for the reason of “it’s too hard for people to play with.” Just insane. My favorite though was the removal of pinnacle weapons. They say it was because of power creep but it really wasn’t, evidence by the fact that they’re mostly all back in the game right now. It was because people whined and complained they couldn’t get them so they had to go, then we get “ritual weapons” as a replacement which were mid at best and were extremely easy to get. Just unbelievable how they just neutered every single grind that gave the game identity for the audience barely playing the game, I don’t even want to call them casuals because casual Destiny players will typically still try to interact with the games flagstone systems (or at least they did). I mean what meaningful grind has there been in the past 6 years? The only one that was actually enjoyable I can think of was onslaught during ITL. Every thing else is has been some meaningless thing like power level grinding or bounties every season. Just no aspirational content anymore

@MallowTheQueen If they could just remove the RNG element and make a way to buy the keys once you’ve found it then it would be much better, but as of right now it’s way too inaccessible and I’m someone who has 2k hours on Tarkov

@MallowTheQueen Sorry but in this instance most of the player are will not experience it. This is very different from a raid and even for someone like me who is better than the average player, this is very hard content and a casual will never ever experience it

Cryo Archive should not appeal to Casuals, at least at first. It's the endgame, and should therefore be something players of all skill levels and experiences work towards. Like D2 Raids, you tackle it when you're ready, even if that's months later. You can overcome it with effort

"It's the most elaborate extraction shooter map I've ever seen in a game... the problem is... is your 9-5 grandma and grandpa gunna be able to do it" Shroud says Cryo Archive in Marathon is incredible, but is it too difficult for casual players
