We are woefully short of roads.

Bengaluru deserves better and engineers agree! The Institution of Engineers (India) has given full and unequivocal support to our Tunnel Road initiative, calling it the most practical long-term solution to decongest Bengaluru. Their assessment makes it clear: the city needs modern, multi-layered mobility infrastructure, and a tunnel road can remove over 2.5 million vehicles from surface roads - dramatically improving daily travel. This endorsement reflects a shared expert consensus that Bengaluru deserves faster, cleaner and safer mobility. Our government is committed to delivering this project with transparency, technical rigour and public interest at the core. Together, let’s build a city that moves better and lives better. #NammaBengaluru | #BengaluruTunnelRoadProject

Our city seems to be moving in the right direction finally by looking at “demand” side and focusing on how to reduce personal vehicles. Though many have been crying hoarse for years, we never saw “Paid Parking” occupying headlines! Never saw demands made on “Corporates” The @blrcitytraffic police asking companies to discourage personal vehicle usage by imposing parking charges and asking @BMTC_BENGALURU to offer bus services to tech parks. @0RRCA asks for better bus frequency (fair demand if you want more to use bus) - I think all companies need to start paid parking simultaneously so it doesn’t become a competitive issue and everyone comes together for common public good. It is estimated that companies pay ₹5000 for a parking spot to the builder - this amount can go the employees towards bus and metro as a benefit instead. It must be highlighted that it takes 30 minutes or more for car users to get out of their parking lots in tech parks onto the ORR. There is no bigger proof needed where traffic congestion is coming from and what we should do as responsible citizens. Kudos to @Jointcptraffic @blrcitytraffic for their proactive approach and promoting bus and shared mobility. Hope they bat for reviving bus lane soon too :)

So, Mr. @DKShivakumar , when do we start paying toll for this world-class bikers' tunnel? Innovation shouldn’t come free, right?

Today held a review meeting with Chief Engineers of all city corporations to identify the Top 100 Critical Roads across Bengaluru. 🔹 Each Zonal Chief Engineer will shortlist 10 key roads based on citizen feedback — covering potholes, footpaths, lighting, flooding, and black spots. 🔹 Focus is on long-term, durable road solutions beyond temporary fixes. 🔹 Any work by BWSSB/BESCOM on these roads requires GBA approval. 🔹 Weekly reviews will ensure accountability and continuous monitoring. This initiative reaffirms GBA’s citizen-centric vision for better, safer roads in Bengaluru. All Development Commissioners and Chief Engineers of the Corporations and other concerned officials were present at the meeting. #GBA #Bengaluru #RoadImprovement #UrbanDevelopment #CitizenFirst #greaterbengaluruauthority #gbachiefcommissioner

Bengaluru has given opportunities, identity, and success to millions - it deserves collective effort, not constant criticism. Yes, challenges exist, but we’re addressing them with focus and urgency. ₹1,100 crore has been sanctioned for road repairs, 10000+ potholes identified, and over 5000+ already fixed on priority. Major infrastructure works are underway to make Bengaluru more globally competitive. Under the Greater Bengaluru Authority, East Corporation alone will now retain ₹1,673 Cr of its own revenues to directly improve infra in 50 wards, directly benefitting our IT corridors. With major works like the CSB–KR Puram redevelopment, Elevated Corridors, we are strengthening infrastructure for citizens, employees, and companies alike. Instead of tearing Bengaluru down, let’s build it up - together. The world sees India through Bengaluru, and we owe it to our city to rise united! #NammaBengaluru
