This is a new idea, modeled on the Rural Physician Loan Repayment program AND we’re open to feedback. It’s not core to the bill. And with new funding for DHS personnel under H.R. 1, the OBBB, it may not even be necessary. Bottom line: we’re focused on what matters: enforcement, accountability, and getting this right.

After a swarm of dirt bikes and off-road vehicles choked Light Street and flooded into the Inner Harbor this week, residents called on the city to take action Thursday to ensure driver safety and curtail illegal riding. The Baltimore Police Department emailed The Sun a statement saying it is ramping up enforcement operations against dirt bikes. But they did not respond to specific questions about its strategy. But as a Vet, I’ll share my thoughts 👇 At a time when we mourn the loss of six American service members killed during a retaliatory attack on Americans, I’m reminded once again that our military too often becomes a political pawn. The men and women who serve this nation do so regardless of politics, party, or personal beliefs. They raise their right hand to defend a country that includes all of us, even when we don’t agree with each other. Service means sacrifice. Sometimes the ultimate sacrifice. Today, six families are grieving. Six lives dedicated to this country are gone. That should be where our focus is. Instead, politicians and partisan voices rush to social media to create memes, score points, and throw insults. It’s shameful. These were Americans. Patriots. People who stood the watch for this country. What makes it even more frustrating is the hypocrisy. The same voices who once argued that people didn’t need to stand for the National Anthem are now outraged over whether a President wore a hat or how a salute was rendered as the caskets of fallen service members passed by. We have lost our sense of respect in this country. 🇺🇸 This moment shouldn’t be about politics. It shouldn’t be about parties. It should be about honoring the men and women who gave everything for this nation. As a Veteran, I’m disgusted by the political climate we’ve allowed to take hold in this country. Our service members deserve better. Their families deserve better. And frankly, the American people deserve better from those who claim to lead. Honor the fallen. Respect the sacrifice.
