The good news for The Odyssey is that search interest is rising on Google before the release of the movie. The bad news is that the rising searches are about the backlash and who plays Sinon (Elliot Page) in the movie rather than positive curiosity about the movie. This means that the negative narrative has taken over the conversation about the movie and the interest among internet users. These are people who are looking to confirm their negative opinions or see how bad it is, and these rarely convert to actual ticket sales. It's basically the WRONG kind of attention you want. Combined with the >90% dislike ratio on the trailer, extremely weak ticket sales outside of the prestige 70mm IMAX (only 39 screens worldwide), the damage control press tour, and the trailer being outperformed by other movies... all of these point to a likely disappointing performance.
