Talking about content strategy and marketing (Prev: Producer for @lewishowes)

I’m convinced that 𝕏 will be the top platform for podcast distribution/consumption in 2 year’s time. Here’s why… - Virality of content/ strength of algorithm - Inherently social in design - Less banning/ demonetization risk - Emphasis on video - Speed of platform innovation - @elonmusk understands the power of podcasts YouTube and Spotify will fight for the 2 spot. (To keep up, Spotify will need to invest heavily in video, programmatic advertising, and a strong algorithm for suggesting content, but they seem willing to do this.) Apple Podcasts, who at one point had virtually 100% of the space, will be in the 4 spot. Huberman Lab podcast (via @hubermanlab) will soon put more content and more of an emphasis on 𝕏. If you’re a podcaster, I recommend doing the same and investing in growing your audience on 𝕏. And if you don't yet do video, figure that out tomorrow.

TBPN has been acquired by OpenAI The world is changing quickly but TBPN will stay the same. Live every weekday just with a lot more resources. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this journey big or small. We are 17 months in and unironically just getting started.

We’re trying something new: we’re giving $1 million to the Top Article of the next payout period. We're doubling down on what creators on 𝕏 do best: writing. In 2026, our goal is to recognize high-value, high-impact content that shapes conversation, breaks news and moves culture.

I've never done this before but let's see how it goes. The left video will bring me 250k - 300k followers by February, plus ~9k newsletter subscribers. Once I monetize my newsletter, those eyeballs are worth $40 - $60k, give or take. What does my process look like? The right video is the raw file. I went on a train ride up the west coast with my family last week and we had an hour to spare at the San Francisco train station. I popped outside, found a light in the darkness, and recorded 10 videos like the one below in about 40 minutes. All I had was my iPhone 13, a $15 Amazon mic (that's all I ever have), and terrible lighting. Doesn't matter. Many of the ideas came from stuff I'd seen on social media and bookmarked. Then I uploaded all 10 videos to my iCloud folder where my editor made quick work of them. I'm posting 3 shorts per day in 2025. Why wouldn't I? 4 minutes of effort for 5 figures of "income". Short form video might be the world's greatest asymmetric bet. After 29 years of starting businesses and finding opportunities everywhere I look, compounding is working. All I had to do was share my ideas with the world. The good, bad and ugly (they aren't all bangers).
