Zepto’s just filed to go public in India for ~$7-10B! All in just 5yrs by 2 Stanford dropouts. What an absolutely incredible story! Last year, — Revenue 2x’d to ~$2.4B — Loss margins halved (-26%), looks like a path to profitability — ~50M users and rev/user growing Thats the scale and market cap of Swiggy, which had a 8yr head start, in half the time. Zomato, with a 13yr head start, is at $24B. Looks like 10min grocery delivery is here to stay.

Dear expat techbros of Bangalore. That Y Combinator gig is not where you will get your next investment. Neither is it that 9000 rupee run event or that pure veg thindi walk in Gandhi Bazaar/Malleswaram. The really big funding deals happen in Century Club, Bowring Institute, the Karnataka Golf Association, Bangalore Club and Karnataka State Cricket Association, over beers and baby corn Manchurian. If you are not a member of these clubs, find a co-founder who is. These guys have not studied in your nouveau riche Greenwood or DPS or Narayana or Brigade type schools. Nor are they former IIT aspirants from dummy schools in Kota or Vizag. They don't subscribe to Finance with Sharan. Their dads wear safari suits and are board members in nondescript co-operative banks, which they treat as their private piggy banks. They have land in Devanahalli and Maddur. Bathroom fittings showroom in Kumara Park. Your co-founder needs to be from Mallya Aditi, Valley School, Bishop Cottons, Baldwins, Frank Antony or St. Josephs (European). Management quota seat in RV or PESIT, or BCom from Surana College. Old money. Political connections. ICSE English. No Fear Sticker. Basically get a Danish Sait as your co-founder.

My gym cancelled my membership after my post went viral. After I posted that gym incident, the owner and trainer called me and said: Take your full refund and join another gym. Yesterday, me and my friend went again. Same people. Same thing. Again kissing openly. No hesitation. No regret. Whole gym watching. They didn’t stop. Many women in the gym were uncomfortable. Some were opposing it. Some said they want to leave because this is not the environment they came for. But management’s solution was simple: Not to stop them. Not to warn them. Remove the people who spoke. So the people who felt uncomfortable had to leave, not the people who made everyone uncomfortable.

@hindus47 Bsdk, every 4-5 years this activity happens. And since these are military operated airport, they take up the maintenance, which includes recarpeting. Similar activities happen in Mumbai too but operations are not very much impacted due to 2 runways. Bsdk .

Every time I visit Medanta the waiting room is packed. The queue never seems to end. It makes always me curious - Startups spend millions trying to acquire customers. Hospitals already have customers waiting in line. So why don’t we see startups jump into this space and build hospitals at scale? Is it the massive capex, regulation, shortage of doctors, or something else? Genuinely curious what I’m missing

@Mohansinha You need to see how driving in India works and then put across suggestions. Honestly. Frankly India doesn't go by the rule book. The traffic police\highway police isn't bothered. Insurance isn't bothered. 2 wheeler riders not bothered (about safety). You need to dig deeper

Driving on the expressway. Just before we reached it the driver and I were talking about the traffic jams, and I said it’s because drivers lacked lane disciple. Then I told him which lane he should be on - the middle lane - and the extreme right lane was only for overtaking. Since then, he has been driving on the extreme right lane all through!
