🚨Interesting comments from Nicola Sturgeon 🚨It is concerning that almost everyone bar Fianna Fáil sees the direction of travel 🚨This approach from Fianna Fáil must change soon, it is achieving nothing and time is moving fast 🚨We must work together irishtimes.com/politics/2026/…

Chambers' comments show he has little understanding of unionism and where the conversation on unity has got to.

FF’s Jack Chambers hears SDLP’s Sinead McLaughlin say: “Co-operation is still a bit piecemeal, and really dependent on political will rather than embedded in long-term planning. I don’t see that Shared Island is actually doing that long-term planning.” irishtimes.com/politics/2026/…

Nigel Farage is as passionate a Unionist as Boris Johnson and the ERG. English politicians are not to be trusted. They’ll always do what they think best for England. It was ever thus. And unionism refuses to learn.

A ridiculous position to hold. Implicit in Martin’s comments is a belief we don’t have ‘reconciliation’ today, yet that does not negate our current constitutional position. A more logical position would be to contend Unity offers a better framework to advance reconciliation.

“I believe that a British government has no right to legislate on behalf of the people of Ireland, and I don’t believe I should be interfering in affairs of Britain either. “Westminster cares little for the north of England, never mind the north of Ireland!” - @ChrisHazzardSF

The DUP have rolled out the red carpet for yet another extreme English politician offering little more than performative concern for people here. It only reinforces their lurch further to the extreme right & shows they have learned nothing from the damage caused by their Brexit fiasco. The politics of hatred, fear & division have no place in our society.

🚨💥NEW: Reform’s Robert Jenrick says 'Northern Ireland let down over Brexit' during Shankill Road visit 🎥🎤Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaking to @reformparty_uk MP @RobertJenrick. 📍He was in Belfast alongside @duponline Leader @GRobinsonDUP. Mr Jenrick says it “pains” him to admit it as a former Conservative, but that government let Northern Ireland down. He says too few Westminster politicians visit Northern Ireland and that people here have a right to feel “neglected.” He was asked how things would change under a potential Reform UK government.

A remarkable triumph for the inclusive, accommodating vision of Irishness shaped by Nationalist/Republican leaders in a city in which political unionism sought to shut down & exclude manifestations of Irishness for generations. It says a lot about our past, but also the future.
