Live SR Design Update Yesterday, @RiotPhreak announced that he will be stepping away from Live Balance for the foreseeable future to work on some other exciting projects within League! Want to thank him for all his work and I think we can agree that PhreakSzn has been a really great time to be a League player! I will be re-assuming overseeing the day to day Live work more directly, (which I'm also pretty excited about!), but not expecting too much to change in terms of how we approach patches. I will also be taking over Patch Rundowns starting on 26.8 to help keep that line of communication with the community open as well as continuing on Patch Previews. (More on this soon)

NEW: Texas teen shoots woman in the neck who was visiting her friend with cancer before stealing the car belonging to the woman with cancer. 18-year-old Darius DeWayne Hall has been arrested for allegedly shooting Marietta Allison in northwest Houston. The friend with cancer, Cassie Daniel, has shared a post detailing what happened. "There wasn’t any parking, so Marietta had driven around the block to find a parking spot, and we heard the gunshot," Daniel said. "We were later told that her heart stopped immediately when [Hall] shot her in the neck." "The man took her purse, stole my car key, and took the car." Hall was under juvenile suspension for multiple previous charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to court records. Another avoidable death.

Riot solved toxicity by hiding it. “Toxicity went down.” No. Typing went down. Ping spam went down. Perceived toxicity went down. But griefing never left. It just evolved. Soft inting is harder to detect than typing. Target griefing is harder to prove than saying a slur. Meanwhile the report pipeline copy-paste replies, doesn’t read tickets, and doesn’t even play League. Now we’re adding voice chat. The racist/sexist player doesn’t have to verbal abuse you, They can just ruin your game instead. You can mute chat. You cannot mute people deciding they don’t want you to win. Voice chat amplifies all the existing problems we have.

If vc does come to league, I do find it weird that riot has made so many changes to current systems to reduce toxicity, to then add a new way for people to be toxic that’s even harder to monitor and automate restrictions through.

🚨 My Tesla literally saved my life yesterday. What started as a normal drive turned terrifying fast. I unintentionally fasted for 17 hours, took some medicine, and had a severe allergic reaction. My body shut down—I passed out while driving on the freeway, mid-conversation with my wife on the phone. Thank God my Tesla had Full Self-Driving engaged. It detected I lost consciousness (thanks to the driver monitoring system), immediately slowed, activated hazards, and safely pulled over to the shoulder. No crash. No danger to anyone else on the road. My wife heard me go silent and knew something was wrong. She used @Life360 to alert emergency services—they located me within 5 minutes. They attended to me enough for me to tell them, 'I don't want to abandon my truck here on the freeway.' So the Tesla autonomously drove me the rest of the way to the ER. I walked in, got admitted, and they stabilized me overnight. I'm being discharged today—levels back to normal, feeling grateful and alive. Huge thanks to my incredible wife for staying calm and acting fast, and to @elonmusk @Tesla @tesla for engineering cars that literally protect lives when the driver can't. This isn't just convenience—it's life-saving tech. 🙏⚡❤️
